How exciting Wherenext, enjoy. Font all over the place for me as well, it’s annoying. A swift look in today as looking after our granddaughters, young and older. Granddaughter out of hospital, they couldnt move her from the medical ward to another ward as they said she needed a Dr/nurse with her at all times, so she saw many patients around her arrive and then move on, still very poorly and can’t be left alone in case ambulance suddenly needed again and she’s unable to make that call. Mum is at work so we are helping out today and tomorrow. Our holiday seems a long time ago now. We must try to get the grass cut at sometime though. Looks like good weather for the weekend.

What a lovely photo and story about the Well's horse sculpture and the Well's Lifeboat horses, neither of which I had heard about before.

Yes vbfg - what did we do before Mr Google came along!

Well we gone and dunnit. Finally managed to sell the caravan and car, the dealer of our new campervan taking both off our hands.

Picked it up yesterday and spent the rest of the day trying to pack the essentials into it, in between having to give tours to nosey neighbours. It's a lot smaller than our caravan so our home now looks like a second hand caravan accessory shop. It's going to be a day van, but has 4 seat belts even though just a 2 berth, with short 2/3 nights away depending how well MiL's recovery is going. We are actually away at present testing it out. Just local.

Spent some of the day at Erddig NT wandering around the gardens. Been a lovely day weather wise.

Everything seems fine at present. 34 years of caravanning at an end. 1 day of M/homes touring nearly under our belts.

Wherenext I do hope your shake down trip has gone well and you're enjoying your new purchase.

milliehull and RichardandRos you've done very well weatherwise this last week. I hope others who are currently away are enjoying similar.

Been busy in the garden, miss the optimum timing for clay soil...... but at least I've finally got out the forget me nots. The bulb leaves are still green in places and firmly attached so will need to go over again to pull them out. I've literally just placed cosmos and other plants, purchased 11 May 😱, in situ and OH tackling the ground to make planting holes. Ridiculous as it may seem I've got the sprinkler on! Gave a front border an hour , 2 half hour stints to do the whole border, to water in plants. The sprinkler is currently on the pots on top of that weed suppressant bark covered evil 3 cornered leek. The pots almost look like a proper border. Just need watering!

OH just finished one corner, so time to move the sprinkler and start dinner.

Not heard from Goldie, hoping she's busy feeding the haymakers. And there's better news on the livestock front.

Hope folks enjoying themselves.......

Hope you enjoy your new home from home Wherenext, very exciting.

We have had a few days away in Wensleydale, Swaledale to see the beautiful Muker wild flowers meadows, and Wharfdale, for our Wedding Anniversary (54 years!!) the weather has been amazing we have been really lucky.  We also enjoyed a few hours at Mount Grace Priory on the way home.

This is the first time using this new format, this typing is really tiny!!!

We were a tad worried about how we'd cope with a much smaller bed but we shouldn't have been. The new Campervan is a full metre shorter than our caravan and was bought as a day van and for short 2/3 nights away, depending on MiLs recovery rate. The caravan hadnt moved in 8 months and that was unlikely to change anytime soon so we p/x'd it.

We're on a small adult only independent site not too far from home. MiL has had visits from 3 of our neighbours already today so it's very reassuring for us. There's a lot of thoughtful, kind people around but you mostly don't hear about them.

Had a lovely walk at Ellesmere today, weather was very kind. Off home in the morning. We've tested everything and all seems OK. We'll need to fine tune what we take.

Lovely photos Heddlo We were at Mount Grace 2 years ago. Lovely place.

Have a nice weekend folks.

Happy wedding anniversary Mr and Mrs heddlo. I love Mount Grace Priory. I was told when I was doing a Medival History course that there was only one day in the year when the monks were allowed to talk to each other. Let's hope one wasn't holding a grudge for all that time!

We had a walk in Sheringham Park today. Gosh it was warm as it is very sheltered there. It was also beautiful and very peaceful. OH did very well and walked further than he did last year before his back.operation. He will never do longish walks anymore but he managed a good half an hour walk with a couple of stops for a short sit. He is very tired now though.

Goodness this font is small as I type!

Why has your font changed mid post Nellie.

It's nowt to do with me WN, just one of the foibles of the system I guess. However thinking about it I did edit my original post so that might have confused the issue!!kiss

Got home from our break in East Yorkshire on Monday, took much longer than it should due to an accident on the M1, all traffic at a standstill.😫 Been kept busy this week, lots to do but at least the sun has been shining.

Good luck with your new Campervan Wherenext

Good to read you are enjoying your holiday Millie. Nice photos.

Haven't managed to catch up with all other news yet, still reading.

Home today after our 10 week trip of Scotland. The majority of the 17 sites we were on where very quiet compared to previous years. By staying a number of THS this kept our costs down and the 70 nights averaged out at £16:97 pn.

We had a very heavy shower last evening but it was fine again when we got up and it has been a lovely warm sunny day. The caravan is all cleared out and OH has done all the washing which it has dried nicely out on the lines.
Now for a round of appointments, including the dentist and our Covid jabs, also the caravan is due it's annual service next week. We hope we will be able to get away for a few short breaks inbetween the appointments, depending on how close together they fall, so we will just take in the odd off-grid THS or CL.

Glad you had a good trip Nellie, hope appointments go well and you are able to fit a few short breaks in too.
