Can't compete on club sites, but last year we were away for 265 nights, 3 Commercials, 4 CC sites and 46 CLs of which 17 were new to us.

Cost £3295:40.

At present on our 5th CL of this year, with many more to follow hopefully.

Nelliethehooker and JVB how lovely to manage so much in the way of travelling and exploring of our wonderful country.

I must admit I was hoping we'd manage trips like these when we bought our motorhome a decade or so ago. We haven't lost the opportunity but like others caring commitments and life gets in the way. Somehow we managed more when I was working than we have since I gave up. More of a structure to days and weeks???

Wow that's a lot of nights away, how many miles did you cover on your travels.

Posted on 09/02/2019 07:20

I reckon nelliethehooker manages as many on foot as towing!

I wonder if Millie was at the Cathedral today when they were saying goodbye to Mr Peterborough or Mr Pizza Express?

Sadly I wasn't David as we were collecting 2 grandson's from school.  I gather the Cathedral was packed. Rightly so. He did such a lot for Peterborough.

I see 'bus gate' in Chelmsford is on BBC East again. It's raised over a million pounds in fines.

Hardly surprising. I had a look on GoogleEarth and the only signage appears to be on the bridge itself, by which time there is no alternative apart from reversing back. Perhaps if motorists started doing that, the subsequent chaos that would ensue would get the council to sort it out.

I think that the bus gate signage/planning etc sums up our local and county councils attitude to planning in general and roads in particular. It was announced that our roads in the city run at 96% capacity but they have still approved thousands more dwellings all around the town with no infrastructure plans whatsoever.

I had to chuckle as some hoarding on a development that is being expanded again said Beaulieu holt/station some wag had added lair lair pants on fire 😂😂. It was first proposed in the late 70s early 80s. Like the notorious army and navy roundabout they allowed building to the edges meaning there literally is no where to  accomodate!

I know the feeling B2. When I had my yacht, I managed more trips when working than after I retired. Never managed to work out why.

Long off's once a month focused the mind! As did trying to organise leave using as little annual leave as possible. It seems days aren't the same precious commodity they once were 😱. Plus mum needs more support. Also NZ trips swallows up money I don't earn any more 😢

Note to self, must try harder!

Our cat wouldn't like it...(if we went away too much.) It costs £9 a day in the cattery so that curbs our style. wink
