I think the difference is that background apps are designed to run on very little power but a main app is very power hungry which causes the heat build up. Interesting that the battery power had dropped quite considerably in quite a short time.

Posted on 02/11/2018 22:26 by TammygirlCollected grandaughter from school this afternoon, huge bag of dirty washing. She's only been back 2 weeks and its only personal stuff as all school clothes get done by matron. Quick tea at the Colonel's then on to a bonfire and fireworks do. Another on tomorrow but heavy rain forecast so thought tonight would be better and we were not disappointed. What to do tomorrow with a bored 12 year old in poring rain.

Woke up to blue sky and sunshine but it's clouded over now.
Done the Aldi shop, and now OH has taken himself off to the garage to work on "Daffy" . British Gas finally came to change our smart metre reader, originally told on the phone it would come back to life not sure how???? Engineer who came said it had stopped working because they had updated all software and we should have had notification! Er no! Anyway nice new one fitted, but think I preferred not knowing how much we were using!
Expecting a visit from eldest son this afternoon, not seen him for a while always busy. Offered to take us out for a meal, so expect we'll be going to local pub, cheap & cheerful
Enjoy time with your Grand daughter TG whatever you decide to do.

Get your GD on Pintrest TG, looking at some hand made stuff, then suggest she have a go. Knitted stuff is booming at the moment, as are unusual wreaths for Xmas. Take a look at the Pom Pom rugs! That combines screen time with practical have a go, and she’ll have a “cool rug’ for her bedside at school!

Probably only those who spend lots of time screen scanning, CY, to the exclusion of thinking !! Particularly since the "plug In " display unit does not always come with the fitting of the meter -- I was asked "Do you want one of these 'cos they are free { }?" Oh yes, I'll have six ! No you won't you'll have one & lump it !!

When we got waylaid in our local town by our own energy company, then advising us that we should have a smart meter fitted ,I said that if they could give me a guarantee in writing that it would still work if we changed supplier ,"I did not get that assurance" so we are now going to stick with what we have until such times as they can

We are going tomorrow to pick up our little day van that we have bought recently. Hoping to be home early then take it out a drive in the afternoon. Also got to empty the caravan as it is going for its first service next week hoping it passes with no issues. Very wet and windy here today lots of fireworks going off too

Posted on 03/11/2018 15:37 by cyberyachtI'm intrigued by the blurb that claim 'smart meters' save you electricity. AFAICS they would only do so if you heeded the information provided and cut down on consumption. I wonder how many have been conned by them.
