Three Quarter Length Shorts

Inspired by another thread......

Can anyone explain what these things are about?

These are the garment that are halfway between shorts and trousers. They are like trousers, but end halfway between knee and ankle.......like trousers that have badly shrunk.

Do the wearers hope to get a tan on the lower few inches of their legs? Could they not make their mind up between trousers and shorts that day??

MrsH and I refer to them as "Dork-shorts".......because the wearer looks such a dork.

Can anyone explain them? Does anyone admit to wearing them??

If you have legs as old as mine "long shorts" cover the "patchy" bits yet keep my lower legs aired and cool!

IanH, the proper term is Crop's and yes I do wear them, being fairly tall mine come a little below the knee not halfway down the leg. I love my shorts and wear them when its nice and hot, but there are times and places that crop's are more appropriate, I don't do skirts and rarely wear dresses.Wink

I should qualify my original post.......I am talking here about men wearing such things.

Women are excused, as Capris pants etc. are very attractive on women......

Shorts  - lovely - the shorter the better from my point of view. I've got short legs and I have spent last 4 yrs or so trying to get shorts that are short enough!

Bermudas are OK in Bermuda but in the UK I want a tan line that is 6 inches above my knee caps.

+1, they are also good when doing the gardening on a hot day.Laughing

Maybe if we were lucky enough to have your shapely legs, we would not need them Ian.Laughing

Right Never!  But I see I am excused comment being female!  I used to wear Hot Pants with pride - but Mutton dressed as Lamb doesn't do for me these days Wink
