Three Quarter Length Shorts

I always find it a strange dress code at some golf clubs which specify tailored shorts with knee length socks. Seems  to defeat the purpose somehow.

Not just the dress code that is strange at golf clubs, so are the clientele

Not just Brits, Tammy. You must have seen plenty of Dutch and Belgian tourers with their black socks. Usually with a pair of dirty trainers.

No need to get a proper pair of shorts, just get a pair of decent trousers and cut the legs off at a length to produce a pair of shorts just as you like them. All it needs is an OH who's good with a needle and thread, like mine!!

BTW I never wear socks with sandals and only very short one when I've my trainers on.

Can't say that I have, they usually wear crocs or flipflops. Our boys told OH off many years ago when they came on holiday with us, after many years of not coming, they were 22 &20 at the time. OH had shorts on and trainers with white sport socks, the bous said "Mum do something with Dad 's socks" he had pulled them up the boys were refusing to go out with him like that, he has now been re-educated into wearing shorter socks with trainers/shorts

luckily most golf clubs arent stuck in the same time warp as some 'caravan' clubs...

most golf clubs have realised that you have to move with the times in order to survive, again, unlike some 'caravan' clubs..

noticed that on the Olympics.

I've a lovely pair of  lederhosen, which I swapped for a Bowie knife at an international Scout camp 50 years ago which used to complement my woggle. I still wear them from time time although they're a bit 'huggy' now, but I no longer wear my Red Six sock tabs.
