If I take it back they will either replace it with another one that doesn't work or refund the money paid in which case I will end up back where I started with no tin opener at all! In my view, products should be tested before they are put on the market in the first place. Why frustrate customers by selling them something that's useless?

Or are you so obsessed with earning points that you only ever use Tesco's for everything??

We did buy another one from the warden at this site on our last visit here a while ago and it does work better than the Tesco ones but not as good as they used to be in the good old days when everything was made here in England! When it comes to goods and services, I think there is no doubt that standards here are a lot higher than elsewhere.

Posted on 06/02/2018 09:56 by JVB66Take note ,then when buying anything not made in the UK

The problem, JVB66, is we don't seem to get that choice. I keep searching the labels for Made in England and I just can't find anything! If it's not made somewhere in the Far East, it's not made at all!
Having said that, the last belt I bought was in Marks and Spencer in Wuhan, China and that was Made in England and was the best quality belt I've ever had. Yet when you go to Marks and Spencer on any high street in UK, you will probably find that most of the things on sale are made overseas. Why is that?
Perhaps the answer is something to do with price and the use of cheap labour overseas. The problem with that is less jobs in UK and lower quality products being sold for no othe reason than it's cheaper but at the end of the day, if you want better quality it might be better buying British and paying the price!
