How can we liven this section up?

We have simply got to liven this section up somehow!

It used to be quite lively, but now its just terminal boredom!  We have such riveting threads such as 'What are you all up to today?" ( As if anyone really cares ) and "What is it like for you?)"  discussing the weather Oh great!

The trouble is that if someone just even dares to pen something the slightest bit interesting it gets shunted into the backwoods where it probably won't be seen.

Suggestions please!

missed it again I see I personally can't see why anyone would want to spoil this thread with comments that had to be removed.  The mind boggles.  Anyway TF you tried

Been a good thread thank you TF. Pity the thread hijackers had a go at spoiling it, but they were unsuccessful.

Making a section of any forum more lively really depends on how the rules are written and applied by the forum management.

Agreed. Am trying other Fora at the moment just to see how they compare.  Have been a member of Pprune the aviation forum for many years and in my very umble opinion they have managed things light years better.

They have  their "Moderators" but they rarely get involved. They NEVER move threads, but mainly rely on experienced members themselves  to point out to the miscreants  that they are off thread, or posting in an innapropriate area.  Full PM facility. No stars but a post count so that others can easily see how long X has been a member, and how many posts they have filed. Also brief details of member indicating if Pilot or just enthusiast.

I remain of the opinion that our over regulated Ts&Cs have resulted in a bland and a lack lustre Forum.  I will not just walk away, but will never take the soft option of just accepting such a poorly performing facility.  With just a little better management it could be so much better.

Now looking at other caravanning fora. But listening out!

I looked in at this Pprune forum, first thread I came across, seems it can be as problematic as any other forum Undecided

Quote "Since PPRuNe Deleted User the last thread I thought I would start it again to see if our good friend "Normal Pilot" (possibly mangament posing as a pilot) had made a decision about staying in FR or going to BA?" Unquote

Quote "I Deleted User the post, as my questions had been answered. The rest of the post just turned into the usual PPRuNe crap, slagging people off, no use for anyone." Unquote

No Forum will be 'everything to everyone' for every change that pleases some an equal amount will see it as a bad move & complainSad Tip-take the bits you like, skip over the bits you don't. . . .It makes for a less stressful life. To those who are not happy unless they're unhappy-rejoice, your unhappiness is really making you happy in an unhappy/happy wayEmbarassed no?, me neither, I only write the stuff I don't understand itLaughing
