How can we liven this section up?

We have simply got to liven this section up somehow!

It used to be quite lively, but now its just terminal boredom!  We have such riveting threads such as 'What are you all up to today?" ( As if anyone really cares ) and "What is it like for you?)"  discussing the weather Oh great!

The trouble is that if someone just even dares to pen something the slightest bit interesting it gets shunted into the backwoods where it probably won't be seen.

Suggestions please!

No TW, All I said was that I couldn't see the point of debating it with Bugs because he cannot or will not see it from any other position other than the official one.  I guess that is the  required position of the moderators in this regime.

One of my passions and appreciations has always been that of Leadership.  Nelson, and others too excelled in that wonderful affliction, - "The Blind Eye"  It is something  I too have had to use in the past.  Not the CC management I suspect!

TF, you've been around this forum long enough to know how it works. What CC management do, or don't do, is not the same thing as the way Bugs and other Champs carry out their roles. Bugs gives freely of his time to help ensure this forum runs the way it should. He sticks to the T&Cs which is what we should all do and, instead of appreciating his efforts, you seem to constantly criticise him. Goodness knows, I've had my run-ins with mods in the past but, in this event, I say clearly Bugs is right and you are firmly in the wrong.

It's the old story, TF, you know what the rules are and, if you want to use the forum, simply abide by them and all will be well.

I just wanted to say that I so much agree with this. It sums up the problem of this forum completely. The main fault is silly over picky moderation, a pathetic desperation to avoid even the slightest controversy (the letters page in the mag is now the same) extreme intransigence in thinking their way is best and way too many sections.

I couldn't disagree more I'm afraid.

Things are moved to the place they should have been posted so that people with an interest in the subject matter can actually find them. Why is that over picky?  It's just doing what the original poster should have done. Do we need controversy on a caravanning forum? Really?

General Chat is just a dumping ground for things that don't belong anywhere else.

TW and Jayess!  I learn from your comments that CT is as perfect as is possible, and that any attempt to bring any improvement is not only unwelcome but must be resisted at all costs.  Ok so be it!  Happy to accept your absolute wisdom on such matters.  For myself, I still feel that CT has gone too far in respect of regulation. But obviously you are much more wise on such matters!

Now what was that saying ?  Rules are for the Guidance of wise men, and the absolute adherance of lesser souls!

I find discussions on the weather and what members are thinking of doing today quite riveting, but I think that I will gain more stimulation from doing a Crossword puzzle.

Guys its been fun, but this thread is also getting boring!

CT is a long way from being perfect TF but it will not go back to the days of old. If topics don't interest you then don't open them but try to consider how hurtful your comments may be to the people who enjoy those threads.

I don't claim to be wise.

Nor do I but I can see what is clear as day.

TF, sarcasm is not necessary - why employ it?

The moral of this thread is ------ No member should suggest that the forum could be improved.  To do so incurs the wrath of the "This forum is perfect" brigade.

This forum is NOT perfect.  It was much better when it first went live.   It could benefit from a number of improvements.
