How can we liven this section up?

We have simply got to liven this section up somehow!

It used to be quite lively, but now its just terminal boredom!  We have such riveting threads such as 'What are you all up to today?" ( As if anyone really cares ) and "What is it like for you?)"  discussing the weather Oh great!

The trouble is that if someone just even dares to pen something the slightest bit interesting it gets shunted into the backwoods where it probably won't be seen.

Suggestions please!

The moral of this thread is ------ No member should suggest that the forum could be improved.  To do so incurs the wrath of the "This forum is perfect" brigade.

This forum is NOT perfect.  It was much better when it first went live.   It could benefit from a number of improvements.

Some people need to clean their "Rose tinted Glasses"

Who has said its perfect, K? If you've read that then it is your glasses that need fixing. We all know it's not perfect but constantly moaning about the T&Cs on here and complaining when mods carry out the job they are tasked with is going to achieve nothing. Unhappy people like you should take matters up with CC or, if they chose to use the forum, do it according to the rules. Those very rules were put in place because of the mayhem caused in the early days when people posted with no thought for decency and no consideration for others.

I'm actually surprised that you still post here, K, given the numerous good forums you use.

K I think that the forum needs serious improvement in very many areas so i don't feel I fit into the forum is perfect brigade.

Since the forum was rearranged there have been many moans about how GC was better in the old days. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't but it's been made clear that the structure will stay how it is.

So if GC is boring there are a couple of options. Put some effort into posting interesting discussions that are allowed within the T&Cs, take a look at other areas of the forum or find another forum. Constantly moaning about how boring things are is not a solution

TW and Jayess!  I learn from your comments that CT is as perfect as is possible, and that any attempt to bring any improvement is not only unwelcome but must be resisted at all costs.  Ok so be it!  Happy to accept your absolute wisdom on such matters.  For myself, I still feel that CT has gone too far in respect of regulation. But obviously you are much more wise on such matters!

Now what was that saying ?  Rules are for the Guidance of wise men, and the absolute adherance of lesser souls!

I find discussions on the weather and what members are thinking of doing today quite riveting, but I think that I will gain more stimulation from doing a Crossword puzzle.

Guys its been fun, but this thread is also getting boring!

TF

Excellent post TF......you have hit the nail on the head.

Good point Jay, I read that there are plenty of forums out there that cater for all subjects frowned upon here on CT, I think someone called them 'grown up' forums. From what I understand-they have many of the posters who no longer post on here tooHappy & a jolly good time is had by all.

I've heard the same, Rocky. I wish someone would name these grown up forums so we could take a look and see what proper debate looks like.

TF, so many times you intimated you were leaving the thread but you keep coming back Undecided Really must be riveting for you.

No need for sarcasm either, just accept that others have an opinion also and did you make your own rules up when serving as a Police Officer?

Regarding the "What are you doing Today" thread, small chats about everyday events are the stuff of life, it may not be riveting, it may even be boring but it's human contact on an easy going level and long may it continue....Smile There is also a good amount of "chat" in General Chat about life events in general, people have been supportive and offered words of kindness for all sorts of things, I think TF you might agree with that?! Smile

Good post, Dave. I'm rather concerned about a Police Officer turning a blind eye as well.
