How can we liven this section up?

We have simply got to liven this section up somehow!

It used to be quite lively, but now its just terminal boredom!  We have such riveting threads such as 'What are you all up to today?" ( As if anyone really cares ) and "What is it like for you?)"  discussing the weather Oh great!

The trouble is that if someone just even dares to pen something the slightest bit interesting it gets shunted into the backwoods where it probably won't be seen.

Suggestions please!

May I say, DaveFL2.....you have the best avatar ever, with those flashing car headlights.

Very clever!

Happy

Most irrating avatar very annoying. They remind me of a little boy who likes to play with his toys. This is not a personal attack at you Dave just my opinion.

Find something interesting to post, easy said than done. Posters shouldn't open posts up if they don't like them. Two interesting statements, can anyone come up with a subject that everyone gets involved in? Most people are interested in politics, i am not in any way saying open a post on politics, although there is one running at this moment in time. Don't open posts that you are not interested in, in the old days as many of you are putting it, although it isn't that long ago, people posted about politics and, yes it did sometimes get heated but, posters that opened the posts up and objected to them didn't just leave they reported the thread, therefore when the thread got closed it wasn't the management it was the members that curtailed freedom of speech. By the way why hasn't this thread been closed because it's definately political and, there are insults flying about.

More ironyLaughing

Tinny, the point I am making is many people find politics interesting, and as I wrote interesting subjects are really hard to find that will engage a majority of posters on here. I am not complaining about moderation, there are different types of politics, some can be discussed on here, some cannot. What are people referring to when they keep on about the old days if it's not the political discussions that took place. I read your comments about the cc on another thread, you were complaining about a poster that you thought didn't exist, I did notice however, when that poster said they were real you didn't apologise to him or to the cc staff that you maligned.

Rocky, we used to enjoy a bit of banter about Yorks and lancs and very enjoyable to but, I have tried to have a bit of banter with posters from the south and been castigated for it, different sense of humour I suppose. As for irony I don't post much on here because of the blandness of some of the subjects. You used to get involved with the discussions in the old days did you not, in fact you left foot quite awhile I believe. By the way if you look at the J.C. thread you will notice that rather than prolong an argument with bugs I ducked out as I am going to now.

I maligned no one. I asked questions politely, MD. You should read it again.

Lets stick to the topic of this thread, shall we?

I don't know why you want to drag politics into everything. You know the T&Cs and you know how to contact CC if you're not happy.

Not all of us find politics interesting, or want to discuss them we joined a caravan and motorhome forum for that reason!   Undecided

The moral of this thread is ------ No member should suggest that the forum could be improved.  To do so incurs the wrath of the "This forum is perfect" brigade.

This forum is NOT perfect.  It was much better when it first went live.   It could benefit from a number of improvements.

Some people need to clean their "Rose tinted Glasses"

Who has said its perfect, K? If you've read that then it is your glasses that need fixing. We all know it's not perfect but constantly moaning about the T&Cs on here and complaining when mods carry out the job they are tasked with is going to achieve nothing. Unhappy people like you should take matters up with CC or, if they chose to use the forum, do it according to the rules. Those very rules were put in place because of the mayhem caused in the early days when people posted with no thought for decency and no consideration for others.

I'm actually surprised that you still post here, K, given the numerous good forums you use.

Write your comments here...Thank you for proving my point so well, --- I too mentioned that the forum could be improved --- See what I mean folks.   The wrath of those people even extends to  telling other people that they are unhappy and should go away just because they have the honesty to say that improvements could be made.

For the record I am happy and content with life, Forums to me are just a pastime and not as the TFIP  Brigade appears, their raison d'être:.

Gee, K, that's quite some spin you've put on things. If it makes you happy, so be it.
