It's good to hear that members of CT are receiving their vaccinations, good luck to all those yet to have theirs. It seems like a long haul till we get everyone sorted and hear the results of the present vaccines.

I'm leaving this open for non political comments as per the guidelines. Hope you can add your own experiences and thoughts.

My first jab comes up tomorrow, I'm so glad we have research institutions that have got us this far! And I am planning breaks away in the hope of improvements on the horizon.

The Vatican City are to prevent any un-vaccinated staff from working and they will forfeit pay until they can return. < LINK >

Hardly the most enlightened of employers! wink

I assume you're not now saying that as an open society we should model ourselves on that rather restrictive environment? frown

Following on from Tammygirls earlier post , I believe Singapore has brought in the procedure of "NO vaccine no  free medical assistance" if COVID is contracted. Personally I think it's an excellent idea , and one our government should adopt..

Absolutely not.  Refusing treatment to the non-vaccinated would be medically self defeating and also totally wrong in our society.

I have been saying just that all along. No jab no job.

Hmm! Is it just that aspect of Vatican City law you are saying we should follow, or every other one of their laws? undecided

It doesn’t matter much that Omicron is less deadly. If it can infect twice as many people as delta, then the end result is going to be about the same. In fact it poses more of a threat because increased infections take more key workers out of circulation, the type of people who keep the UK going every day.

Then they should vax up, social distance & wear a mask in crowds. I know many who do that & they’re still working without Covid-it ain’t rocket science it’s just following the rules. If folk are happy collecting Darwin awards I can’t stop them🤷🏻‍♂️

I am simply reporting  the approach an employer of 5000 staff has adopted and one I wholeheartedly  support. You seem to be in danger of dragging religion into it, an area I have  no interest  or knowledge  of  and against the terms of  the forum T&C s.

You are unbelievable! You brought up Vatican City rules and now accuse me of "dragging religion" into the discussion. Where have I done that. I should have known better than to even attempt to disagree with you in what I thought was a reasonable way. Fortunately most other posters seem capable of disagreeing respectfully. frown
