But these are car parks for day use and not aires for overnight camping use?

If one chooses a MH for touring then don't expect special treatment just because one wants a cheap stay funded by local funds?

It would be good to just park for the day. Who mentioned costs?

What is the difference between a height barrier and one that raises to allow entry? Both do the same job of restricing entry. Car parks that charge could equally be fitted with ANPR barriers that automatically  lift to allow entry but wont let you out until you have paid at the machine with a card. There are Aires in France which employ such barriers and operate quiet sucessfully.

As Advised by our county police team who seem to be the point of contact for ANPR country wide (not sure UK wide)until all ANPR cameras are checked for accuracy , which is possible in the near future (road pricing?) they cannot be used in court as evidence in any disputes, which could rule out being installed in some placessurprised

I have been advised of three places (not LA fitted) local to us that they have had to be removed as inacurate registrations have resulted in expensive disputes with vehicle ownersundecided

It seems the underlying  principle  of the tourist pound  is it only goes one way, out of the tourists pocket and into that of the locals.

You want to he paid to visit somewhere? 😀

You benefit from sharing the delights of the places you love but don't seem to be willing to contribute towards costs.🤷‍♂️

I am happy to spend in places I love. What I am less happy with is seeing a grasping and grudging attitude towards those who do bring in the their pounds or euros and its so marked in the UK that its one of the things I like best about taking my business elsewhere. For example I can spend 3 months in mainland Europe and spend little or nothing in all that time on car parking, try doing that for a day here.

Cue the disbelievers or the " it couldn't work here brigade".

I can only remember paying once to park in France and that was on the poshest underground car park I've ever seen in Saint Tropez.

We are not Blue Badge holders surprised
