The Club have released more details of the new Booking System here

There are still finer details still to be arrived but the link (thanks Harry) sets out how the new system will work.

I have closed the previous thread on when we will get details of the new booking system and opened this one to allow comments specifically on the new system rather than discussing what they might be.

Earlier in this thread I said:

It would be useful in that respect ( when i go out without money or cards) to pay for goods so think I will give Google Pay a try.

Just an update, yesterday I tried it and found it very easy to use. I made two purchases, a large bill for fuel and a very small one for 2 litres of milk. You don't even have to enable the App, just unlock the phone and it behaves exactly like a contactless card with the advantage you get an immediate record on your phone of what you have used it for.

Righly or wrongly, it is the need to have a lock on your phone that stopped me from downloading the App.

I have been following this thread with interest and thinking the talk of cutting the number of cancellations was all about cancelling close to the arrival time on a site which I don't think that I have ever done.

Reading Rowena's comments though I realise that cancelling also refers to deciding to leave early which we have done over the years several times.

Do you think I am right in thinking that if I book for two weeks at a site and then choose to leave three or four days early,  giving twenty four hours notice, instead of being refunded the nights in full, the deposit will be deducted from the total refund?

Morning

Not sure where the 24 hours comes in LTC. At present early departures come into the 72 rule. That is to get a full refund you have to give 72 hours of your intended departure or if less you forfeit 1 nights fee. Not sure what the new procedures will be.

It's zoom time again this afternoon with some more insight into the new system for us. If we don't get a full room there should be more time for q&a. Not much else to do while we're getting battered outside! Wind has been 65 mph so far this morningundecided

Lock on phone plus lock on SIM. Wouldn’t want anyone running up a huge bill if it was stolen.

If you left early (within the club's designated time frame) but moved to another club site I wouldn't expect any loss, just a new deposit for the next site?

Although I have a pin to lock my phone, I don't have to 'unlock' my iPhone to open the Apple Pay app...merely a double press in the home button from the Home Screen...

yes, then I need fingerprint confirmation but no pin to open the app.

Double tab enable is here...."Double check again by opening Settings ➔ Wallet & Apple Pay ➔ Double Click Side Button: Set this to ON."

this appeared to be the default...

presume, if no fingerprint enabled, then normal card pin would need to be entered.
