Good morning. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience being caused with the implementation of our new booking system. Members and guests are able to make bookings through the new system however this is not the complete experience we have designed.

Please be assured our IT and Technical Teams are working extremely hard to resolve all of the issues as soon as possible.

DK, I still can't understand why that information would be required whether for UK or Overseas bookings. It is irrelevant in terms of booking. If it is for an overseas booking then the child's passport would be sufficient for the authorities, of which CaMC is not one. Whether it is easy to remove or not, the collection of irrelevant data is illegal.

Rowena

Could we please have an udate on when this new system will be fit for purpose, you said above that Members and guests are able to make bookings through the new system however this is not the complete experience we have designed. I would suggest that there are a great many members unable or are finding it very difficult to make bookings depending on what device, operating systems and network speed they have, some information on the progress of fixing these issues would be welcome or is it the intention to ignore and hope it goes away.

John

For overseas bookings there will be a requirement for names and DOB's for all travelling long before anyone gets to look at a Passport. I think you will find this information has to be passed to the operators of whatever crossing you are using which I suspect is probably a legal requirement and also any campsites you might book. I can't see it being there in the first place unless it is required? Obviously the same does not apply to UK bookings but as I said it might depend on how easy it is to extract that requirement from the UK side of the booking form?

In my opinion, any difficulty in removing it from UK bookings does not justify leaving it there. It's not a valid excuse.

Good god is this still going on
The change was bought about because, the old system could easily be abused, and that is  what a lot of members chose to do
The new system is  more involved then the old one . not easily abused ,but it is perfectly workable, and not that complex. Get over it. move on ,and accept that if you want to use, and abuse it like the old systems. it is going to cost you

I don't think the majority of posts on here are moaning about the deposits or about the complexity they are genuine complaints that the system does not work as it should on their devices the same as myself, on my android smart phone its so slow to load its impossible to use, the same on my android tablet, it works on my laptop windows 10 which I dont carry around and use very rarely, everything else on the club site works fine only the booking system is rubbish so I'm not going to get over it and I never abused the old system which I have to say worked faultlessly.

Are you referring to the App or using the browser on your smart phone. I agree the App is a dead loss but using a browser in my case Firefox, it is much better on my Samsung S9 running Andriod version 10. especially if you ignore the map and work from lists. Could it be better, yes, but i am guessing It is really designed to work on desktops and laptops not on small screen devices where the App should provide the service.

When EGH spoke to me about the App, they referred to a version 1.48 which we do not have access to but is this in the pipeline and is it what we can expect to eventually be released? Can you tell us more Rowena?

The app and browser on smart phone useless , Chrome browser on tablet loads then dies the death when trying to use it I probably could book something but it would take an age, broadband speed is 30mbs so if I have problems using system the club will be losing an awful lot of bookings and not so much as a hint from the club that something is being done about it.
