Good morning. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience being caused with the implementation of our new booking system. Members and guests are able to make bookings through the new system however this is not the complete experience we have designed.

Please be assured our IT and Technical Teams are working extremely hard to resolve all of the issues as soon as possible.

I've been requested to keep booking system posts here...

Is it just me? I have just come back to the website to look for another CL, and all seems totally different, the map is AWFUL and the CL and Club Site pages seem completely inaccessible. I can still access some CL pages as before, as I have them saved as bookmarks, but there seems to be no links within the new website layout to get to them.

The amount of detail abbout any given site that pops up in the side tab is sadly lacking - badly lacking - compared to the previous CL and Club Site pages, and the map detail shows no local roads, no directions to the site, and no satellite view.
The whole website redesign and new layout appears to be a total move backwards, and its usability compared to the previous version, is right out the window.

I really can't be the only one having this problem, surely?!!

79 pages of complaints should tell you you're not the only one, Pugwash.

Pugwash, Hold your I pad horizontal instead of vertical. Works well and gives you all the answers you are looking for

I've been been using a Samsung android tablet and anroid phone and find the booking system so slow its impossible to use, this morning I tried it on my laptop windows 10 it was completely different running at a normal speed and enabling the map to be used, there seems to have been no improvement in the android functionality since the launch.

Unless you are using the no facility sites(such as Bromyard Downs, etc..) I doubt you will get a Club Site cheaper for a single person than many CLs offer nowadays. My OH used to tour solo, with me joining him when I could, so we made use of the cheaper Club Sites, but that was some eight years ago, and Club Site prices have rocketed since then. Some small private sites do/did offer a single person rate, and still no deposits.

They have certainly rocketed lately but they not only have to pay more for electricity but for gas to warm the facilities blocks, so I am not too surprised.

I have stayed at Borrowdale, Hebden Bridge and North Yorkshire Moors sites which don't have toilet blocks but are lovely sites, but I really prefer sites with facilities blocks, which is why I don't stay at too many CLs.  The CLs that I have stayed on have been more expensive than I would have paid for at Club sites (at that time), but that is because they were all near canals, which I wanted to visit and 2 of them were run by marinas, so I expected them to be more expensive.

I have started to have a look at CLs for next year which are in reasonable localities and have good facilities but I envisage that CLs with facilities, will have to put up their costs as well.

While in the loo early this morning I overheard twotalki g about how expensive site were getting one said we save money on club sites at weekends as most tend to.be very busy and the warden's so not normally check who's in the caravans so we only book for me and wife and forget to book the kids , no one checks surprised

Apologies if this has been raised ad nauseum but when I tried to book a site in Norfolk a couple of days ago, the first one was full.  OK, fair enough, ut why do I then have to put in details of what I am tugging, and what I am tugging with, and preferred dated for every new site?  It is utterly ridiculous.  Obviously no-one has been through this fool-proofing the system to any sensible extent.  I used to spend weeks with staff simulating every process  we had specified and a good few we hadn't when I was leading new manufacturing software installations, and whilst invariably not perfect, at least it never fell at these sort of first hurdles of nonsensical requirements.  Automation and software is meant to make things reliably easy for end users, not employ programmers for ever.

My wife is lucky enough to still have the old app on her mobile, I have the new one. She's resisted the update. We've been researching club sites and CLs in the Dorchester area.

My wife has looked at several CLs, browsing the map and reading reviews on her old app whilst my new app is still loading up the map.

The new app is not fit for purpose. This is not good enough.

Ignore the app. Just use the website. Click on Find a UK Campsite and scroll down from there . Cls and their reviews are listed county by county.

Not on my kindle it doesn't! Being away, which having a touring unit is all about, and not having a computer to play with, I and most others in a similar situation have to make do with what we have with us, i-Pads, kindles and phones etc, and the changes made to the booking system have made it near impossible to search for sites, CLs in particular. One should not have to find work arounds to access the information that should be readily available on the club's site pages, as it was prior to the recent changes.
