Good morning. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience being caused with the implementation of our new booking system. Members and guests are able to make bookings through the new system however this is not the complete experience we have designed.

Please be assured our IT and Technical Teams are working extremely hard to resolve all of the issues as soon as possible.

Hurrah. A post I can agree with.

I just ignore the app and the floating map and log iinto the ordinary website. Type in the name of a Club site and put in dates and size of car and caravan. Then make the booking for me alone - as it knows my name and date of birth. Then pay the warden when I arrive on site for anyone else I decide to take.

How easy is that? certainly takes less than a minute. Why all the fuss?

You missed out the bit where you input card details to pay the deposit. I would struggle to make a booking including that in less than a minute.🤔
As you say site booking is now working fairly smoothly, even using the map to search. Although the smoothness does depend on the bandwidth of your broadband.

I have to say that so far, I have had no problem with the new system. I haven't needed to amend a booking yet so haven't explored all elements, but I think it works. I tried a couple of test bookings last night, and they worked fine. Many were showing low availabiity which suggests that it isn't putting off the majority of members.

I have to agree that the app is rubbish though. It keeps telling me that I'm not a member

Another one not having a great deal of problem. The App is not much good on small screen devices but is working ok on my 8 inch Android tablet. Have you Deleted User the old App and download the new one TimboC? The old Android App does not recognise a log on.

The new app is awful. I am visually impaired , but with the help of on screen magnification the old app was clear and easy to navigate and make bookings. The new app is virtually impossible to use with magnification, the map will not scroll and jumps from one end of the country to the other. I have enjoyed being a member of the Club, but if I am unable to make bookings it's pointless being a member, the website is no better..

Still haven’t taken CLs searches out of the booking system and I don’t know why we should do a search through non club websites

Posted on 30/09/2022 10:42

What is the problem with as is? You only have to click on "Show Certicicated locations"  on the "Find a campsite page" to find CLs.

Yesterday we tried to amend the dates by one day for a 4 night booking made on the old system. As it switched to the new system, it increased the price too. No reason for a price change AFAIK. We were not too pleased but, more importantly, decided that the new price was just not good value for such an ordinary serviced pitch on such an ordinary site. A few minutes later we found a good serviced pitch (you chose your pitch number from an interactive site map) on a commercial site with better site facilities, at roughly the same price as our original Club booking. Cancelled the Club booking.  We only now have one Club site booking in the diary, and probably will not bother with Club sites again.

Yes, I Deleted User the old one.

I'm not bothered though. I don't see it as being essential. If I need a post code, I just dig the book out of the glovebox

The ease of booking with the old system, its flexibility,  the fact that no deposit was required and the brilliant 72 hours window for changes or cancellations were key reasons why we remained loyal club members for many years and why we always used club sites.

We'll now look around for non-club alternatives as a matter of course and will book very last minute on the fewer occasions we still use a club site.

It's such a shame.
