Good morning. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience being caused with the implementation of our new booking system. Members and guests are able to make bookings through the new system however this is not the complete experience we have designed.

Please be assured our IT and Technical Teams are working extremely hard to resolve all of the issues as soon as possible.

We definitely predicted it on this forum, JV. At that time we were talking of the future and the future is now here.

But not yet, deposits don't come into effect until June 2023. So if such habits are happening now then it is under the old booking system of no deposits. Even more reason to have deposits, at least the Club will get 20 percent of the booking fee or £25 and have the pitch to sell as late availabilty or to passing trade.

If one knows that one will not be getting back the deposit why would people bother to tell The Caravan Club . . . ?

Out of decency or is that in short supply in the Club?. I hope they keep note of such members and suspend their ability to make bookings for a period as a warning. In the extreme they could withdraw their membership for persistent offenders. I am sure if it becomes a real problem, which I doubt, the Club has such sanctions at its disposal.

As it seems as common knowledge.,since the covid pandemic , many people have become very selfish so not arriving at sites is just as it is with non arrivals for bookings at restaurants and pubs a very recent big increaseundecided

I thought any new bookings made now will be subject to a deposit? I'll be booking a site later on tonight for late October and I assume I'll have to pay one?

Obviously the deposit factor is not conclusive proof of no shows but seems a likely scenario.

Why are people already paying deposits for stays booked in the coming weeks?

Well I have missed all the 'fun' in the last two weeks and have not read any of the above posts.

I did check my bookings and there was a great panic when the first thing I saw was no upcoming bookings (it was grayed out) and my next payment is due in May! I have a site booked a week on Friday so why pick on the last booking in May?

But when I clicked on the upcoming booking they were all there (whew) so I don't understand why the next payment isn't due till May? Actually when I refreshed the page the upcoming booking was then green?

I tried a dummy booking, but will be doing one for real fairly soon, and I found it much more cumbersome than before and maybe it's just something new but I don't like it (yet). I found the old booking far easier, why the club couldn't just have added pitch type to that, but it's water under the bridge

I also don't like how you can't see the site name on bookings unless one clicks on view bookings.

well it's here now and I'll have to get used to it.

Well I've waited and tried and I am still at a loss how this new system works. We are flexible and can usually shift a day or two either way but I can't see if dates are fully booked or not. Most frustrating having to keep putting in different dates only to get back "these dates are not available" TELL ME WHAT IS........Please!

Posted on 27/09/2022 17:46

From what I have tried enter your site name, press search without entering dates, press book site, scroll down to calendar and if no prices showing them dates are not available. I think it is this way ?

Another thing:

I tried to amend the party number on one booking adding one extra adult for the booking a week Friday and if I did that then I would have to pay all the full amount. So naturally I'll wait and either pay on arrival or pay while travelling on the day.

@Cookstar: look back at my post that starts 'I think I've cracked it' that tells you how to look at the calendar first to see what dates are available. It's a bit cumbersome but does the job. (Sorry don't know how to put a link on here direct to my post)
