Good morning. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience being caused with the implementation of our new booking system. Members and guests are able to make bookings through the new system however this is not the complete experience we have designed.

Please be assured our IT and Technical Teams are working extremely hard to resolve all of the issues as soon as possible.

Instruction video - a bit late putting that on the site, a comms message should have gone out before launch suggesting that members watch it before making a booking ; could have saved a lot of angst.

It's a bit small on my phone but I get the gist. However it's clear that it was done by someone familiar with the system and doesn't mirror my experience. I put the dates in, selected my site and was left hanging. Eventually after a lot of clicking about found out it was FULL but no flag warned me of that. How lovely was the old calendar box where you could see what was available and then pick your dates.

From the copious clicking and entering of data you have just confirmed how not user friendly it is and certainly not intuitive.

I'm quite au fait with IT having not long being retired from that field so it's not users at fault here in my opinion but I do want to know what are C&MC doing about the digitally excluded or those who simply can't get to grips with IT changes?

"as far as I can see" you must be short sighted then. You must  belive the vast majority on here with genuine concern regarding the new booking system shortfalls are technology illiterate imbeciles.

wedgy do not try reason with the posters as their modus operandi will always be the opposite to what nearly all other posters find with any threadundecided

Yes you are right ✅️

I can't stop the urge to speak my mind when I read some of the ridiculous posts on here. I just sincerely hope the club gets its act together and rectifies the irregularities on the new system. I have just attempted to find some kind of late availability search but to no avail.

A very good point. The old tried and proved system should have been kept as it was but with deposits added and the 72 hour cancellation changed to the 21 days as it is now.
Wouldn't that have been the best of both worlds? Keeping the good system that we all knew but discouraging the block bookings?
Less to change, simpler to implement, easier to understand and of course, less cost in IT fees.

This very idea has been discussed many times over the last 2/3 years. Clearly the club felt that would not be sufficient disincentive? The problem the Club seemed to be addressing was the problems people were experiencing in trying to book because under the old system many were clearly booking "just in case". Moving  it from 72 hours to 21 days would only help those wishing to book fairly late on. I suspect the Club felt that asking for a deposit was likely to discourage those that book speculatively? The jury is still out on whether that will prove successful?

Now how they have gone about it with the systems employed has yet to be proved a success?

What instructions are needed ,as far as i can see it is easy peasy territory ,just read what it asks for, job done first time,  no instructions needed
The more i read, the more i am certain it is 90% a user problem.

I’d like to ask why 60% of the screen is taken up by the map search , why can’t you close this if you don’t want to use that method. Also preferred the previous position where you could look at a site see vacant dates and book if they suited. Keep putting dates in and being shown not available is frustrating, can the previous method not be used in this system

Google is good. “CAMC Bridlington” gives nine CLs in the area in a flash - all details of each of them are there.

But what does one do if ones search engine is not Google, ET?
