It would be great to have feedback on the caravan sites and how the safety measures are working. We will be watching for the next two weeks to see how safe the sites are before we decide to start touring again.  Maybe a lot of people will put reviews on individual caravan sites.

Moderator Edit:

This thread is specifically and solely for members currently visiting sites to offer useful feedback.

Please keep your posts on the topic of "caravan sites opening and safety measures on sites" only.

Thank you.

I can only presume that the Club have decided on a maximum number of users in the loo blocks at any one time, and this is being managed by a band system, ie you have to have a band to go in, no bands left, wait your turn. How it’s being managed in practice remains a mystery, as no one has indicated if anyone is checking that no one enters loos without a band. The theory is ok, but like anything else, it relies upon folks doing the right thing, waiting in line, being well behaved and patient. Or having the staff to enforce it. In between usage, the bands are dunked into Milton fluid to ward off any virus germs.

There was a post that mentioned that a warden had found more than the permitted number in a toilet block during his rounds, so some people are ignoring the instructions already. The wardens are obviously not standing at the toilet door checking how many to in or out and are relying on members to do as directed and not enter it there are no bands in the recepticle.

The system just wont work. It relies too much on everybody doing as they are asked and that just doesn't happen  these days. Unfortunately I can't think of a better system, other than something which is likely to involve spending money on it, therefore I think the best option would be to close all toilet blocks. Many sites operate quite successfully without them.

How does it go "you can take a horse to water etc" it is where the lack of responsibility and no thought for others ,, in these very uncertain times ,is where it so easily can increase the the spread undecided

I am loving all the “this idea will work” stuff that’s happening at the moment, instils a lovely sense of normality back into life. Best so far has been the revelation that drunks are incapable of social distancing......😂

I am compiling a nice little list of quiet places for us to stay once things have settled down more.

What’s needed is the couple who did the survey on toilet cleanliness.  Can’t think of their names offhand

I suppose they could use a hard rubber dog ball with a cable through it attached to door keys and use the door lock

Do what Wardens usually do to restrict use, just lock the excess toilet/shower  compartments. And put 'closed due to cov 19' on the door,  simple surely?

I have read these posts over the years that regularly come up, they suggest LV’ers are generally disruptive, untrustworthy vandals with an infantile streak🤷🏻‍♂️.
