It would be great to have feedback on the caravan sites and how the safety measures are working. We will be watching for the next two weeks to see how safe the sites are before we decide to start touring again.  Maybe a lot of people will put reviews on individual caravan sites.

Moderator Edit:

This thread is specifically and solely for members currently visiting sites to offer useful feedback.

Please keep your posts on the topic of "caravan sites opening and safety measures on sites" only.

Thank you.

"when they checked the toilet block this morning there were more than 2 people in and obviously some had ignored the band system."

Sounds as though the 'band' system isn't working too well. It does sound a bit disgusting, dipping your hand into a bucket of 'nappysan'.

Can I suggest an alternative? Issue each pitch with a numbered plaque; have a row of hooks corresponding to the number allowed in; if there's a vacancy, place your plaque on the unoccupied hook and then enter; retrieve your hook on leaving.

The plaques could be cleaned with a wipe of bleach before reissue.

and i think most on here are from an era when we only bathed once per week, Sunday night whilst listening to "We are the Ovaltine's little girls and boys " on the radio, so why such an obsession with showering every day undecided

Yes, Sunday night bath with my brother, and I always got the tap end 😯

Morning

I'll be on here with some feedback as the week goes on. I guess it's going to be a good while before folks get used to things. For example, we have a 50% reduction in shared facilities to allow for social distancing and the extra cleaning regime in place so there will be queues, no shop, a one in one out at reception to name a few.

Some things don't change though, there's 2 outfits outside the gate now (6.15) Happy Days

Ahh, Did you let them in, or were they made to wait for their allotted time?.

Thanks for the interesting stuff you have posted Ian.

Please be a tad more understanding of those who have chosen to wait a bit though. I have a Mum who needs care, and if I get out and about more amongst lots of other folks, it heightens the risk for her. I have an OH who is in the shielding group and I am doing all the shopping etc.... to minimise his risk. I also have a best friend who has just commenced lifelong kidney dialysis this last week, so at severe risk. I value my family and friends first at this moment in time, certainly above my own gratification. So your sweeping statement about delicate disposition, tiny chance of catching this, arbitrary age is a touch insensitive and uncalled for. As you say, the choice is mine. I am happy for those that are out there, but mindful of those who have responsibilities to others as well.

Thanks TDA. Both clubs have asked people to use their own facilities if possible so I think the delicate disposition bit might be more to do with the person who made the remarks. wink It's all an unknown, so avoid spreading the virus in communal facilities if you can and keep others safe as well.
