It would be great to have feedback on the caravan sites and how the safety measures are working. We will be watching for the next two weeks to see how safe the sites are before we decide to start touring again.  Maybe a lot of people will put reviews on individual caravan sites.

This thread is specifically and solely for members currently visiting sites to offer useful feedback.

Please keep your posts on the topic of "caravan sites opening and safety measures on sites" only.

Thank you.

I'd be interested to hear from the club the drop out rate this summer from bookings made and those that are canceled or no shows. I had thought perhaps to spend  three weeeks in September   starting at a CL in Lochearnhead , then up to Bunreee near Fort William and then up the nortrh east coast at Brora . The Bunree site has no availability in July or Auigust and only two or three odd days in September.  It really does show the folly of our current booking system as I suspect many of these bookings will never materialise  as they've made on spec and other's like myself are blocked from making rock solid bookings

Thanks for the interesting stuff you have posted Ian.

Please be a tad more understanding of those who have chosen to wait a bit though. I have a Mum who needs care, and if I get out and about more amongst lots of other folks, it heightens the risk for her. I have an OH who is in the shielding group and I am doing all the shopping etc.... to minimise his risk. I also have a best friend who has just commenced lifelong kidney dialysis this last week, so at severe risk. I value my family and friends first at this moment in time, certainly above my own gratification. So your sweeping statement about delicate disposition, tiny chance of catching this, arbitrary age is a touch insensitive and uncalled for. As you say, the choice is mine. I am happy for those that are out there, but mindful of those who have responsibilities to others as well.

Nicely put brue, much more delicate than my attempt, but the sentiment is the same I feel.

I wonder what rubber bands Club are using are made from? There are quite a few folks out there with latex allergies, and I know our RA at work saw us move away from wristbands for swimmers because of this. We have a neighbour who goes into anaphylactic shock if she touches anything latex. Found her crawling to our door one morning, after picking up post. It had had a rubber band round it prior to being posted, that’s all it took for her........

Minefield for Club, trying to get things in place....

Club has to provide some sort of tally system for those wanting to use the loos, hence it’s come up with the bowl of Milton (or something similar) It’s an aid to keeping things as clean as possible, an item that is going to be handled dozens of times a day by different people. If a band is in there long enough, it will get the full anti viral effect. If it isn’t, then you have to expect folks are still bright enough to combine this with using their own hand gels as well. Some will, some won’t. Some will wash their hands, some won’t. It’s now the responsibility of each individual to care for themselves, not rely upon others to do it for you, at any point.

I may be being thick about this - but what are the bands for?  I understand that loo blocks need to have fewer people - but how do the bands help?

Fortunately we are off to Thetford tomorrow - no loo block, so presumabley no bands.

And hopefully not  ,but if you or any family are struck down with coronavirus or any other problems and have to cancel ,how rock solid is that? which may also be any of the "on spec bookings" as you think?

If there are not any bands ins the solution then it should? mean that the virus restricted capacity has been metundecided

I can only presume that the Club have decided on a maximum number of users in the loo blocks at any one time, and this is being managed by a band system, ie you have to have a band to go in, no bands left, wait your turn. How it’s being managed in practice remains a mystery, as no one has indicated if anyone is checking that no one enters loos without a band. The theory is ok, but like anything else, it relies upon folks doing the right thing, waiting in line, being well behaved and patient. Or having the staff to enforce it. In between usage, the bands are dunked into Milton fluid to ward off any virus germs.
