It would be great to have feedback on the caravan sites and how the safety measures are working. We will be watching for the next two weeks to see how safe the sites are before we decide to start touring again.  Maybe a lot of people will put reviews on individual caravan sites.

Before anyone comments, yes I am in the vulnerable group, due to age and health. I suppose it is different for younger people who may be prepared to take more risks, but after seeing our son, 40, very fit and healthy go almost the way of Boris when catching Covid I know they can also suffer. One of the last places I would be is in a steamy shower block, sharing showers, toilets and air with strangers! Especially on a site with kids using those facilities. Do they understand about arm bands when out playing and desperate for the loo? The site where our static van is situated are accepting touring vans but have closed all the facilities, concerned for their cleaners and their guests. They have lowered their fees accordingly. So the CAMC is trying to do this with wrist bands. Why not just close the facilities and look after their wardens? But of course they may have to lower the fees,  I doubt anyone at Head Office is having to deal with the problem, or clean the toilet block!

For how long? We have been repeatedly told this is not going to go away anytime soon. Give folks the choice, it's not compulsory to use them. At least having them open might relive pressure on the CDP points. Some sites seem to have very few of those. Possibly because they have facilities blocks.

If I wanted to be n a particular location I would use a club site but wouldn’t use the facilities and certainly wouldn’t quibble about the price, after all it would be my choice to be there

Concerned for their guests or not interested in attempting to accommodate the guests that have no toilet/shower facilities. I have all I need in mine but I love choice, and if this drags on for many months as it looks like it will then I will visit those sites that give me the choice. I may or may not use them but I can understand where you are coming from with your static and self contained facilities.

For this season at least. If I remember rightly the CAMC were one of the last to close at the beginning of this pandemic, so their track record isn't perfect. If people choose to use the facilities on offer, catch something and then spread it on to the local community where they are visiting, It's not just them that will be affected. Most touring vans have full facilities, at least for the rest of this season IMO it is a selfish business who allows the public to share this type of facility and possibly spread this disease further.

I can only presume that the Club have decided on a maximum number of users in the loo blocks at any one time, and this is being managed by a band system, ie you have to have a band to go in, no bands left, wait your turn. How it’s being managed in practice remains a mystery, as no one has indicated if anyone is checking that no one enters loos without a band. The theory is ok, but like anything else, it relies upon folks doing the right thing, waiting in line, being well behaved and patient. Or having the staff to enforce it. In between usage, the bands are dunked into Milton fluid to ward off any virus germs.

Thank you.  I think I understand now.  A bit sceptical it will work - not surprised people have forgotton to put band back - which wil then lead to people just using the block any way.

Ah hum!  No perfect system I guess.  I was just curious - we usually use all our own facilities, even if happen to be on a full facilities Club site (which isnt that often)
