Hi everyone!

Share your views about our UK Club campsite facilities and earn a cash reward!

We’re partnering with Discovery Research, an independent research agency, to gather some feedback to help us deliver great holidays on UK Club campsites. We love to hear your feedback on likes and dislikes, suggestions for improvements and reactions to new ideas.

We’re now looking for some members to take part in a short online research community to help shape future UK Club campsite facilities.

About the research community:

  • The online community will run 11, 12 and 13 April 2022
  • There will be 3 tasks to be completed - one per day
  • Each task will take approximately 30-45 minutes
  • To help us understand your thoughts, we may ask you to share pictures/ video about the topics we will be discussing
  • By taking part you will earn a thank you cash reward!

To be eligible to take part you must:

  • Have visited a UK Club campsite in the past 12 months
  • Be available to participate 11, 12 and 13 April 2022
  • If you fancy participating and can answer yes to both of the above questions, simply register your interest before before Wednesday 6 April by clicking HERE to complete a short Google form hosted by our trusted partner Discovery Research.

As you’ll appreciate, we need to involve a really good mix of members to ensure we get well-rounded feedback, so whilst we won’t be able to follow up with everyone who registers, we do truly appreciate all interest shown. After registration, if you’ve been selected a Discovery researcher will be in touch with you to confirm your participation.

Good one Allan.

Though seriously I suggest the Research and Insight person pops down to Cornwall to see what there is on offer at the campsite at Trewan Hall - run by the Hill family for50 years just using their own insight.

Or if that’s too far to travel from  head office a look at the Trewan Hall website will reveal the range of activities and events on offer. An open air theatre performance onsite there in July is way ahead of anything at a Club site.

My feedback would be that many, myself included, find the use of such titles pretentious and irritating to the point that the requested feed back wont happen.

Not me AJ, I couldn't care less what someone's title is. It certainly does not stop me expressing my views.

It’s the whole family thing too C, not so much next Gen but 3 Gen👍🏻. Us, Kids & Grand kids too, 2 car job 7 people. It’s good VFM & no upsetting the natives with clogging up of car parks or the roads with Moho’s & Cvans. Yup it’s the future.

Except it’s not, it’s a reinvention of the past. Remember Butlins &Pontins? Create them again by all means with nicer toilets & throw  in an X Box etc, but it’s not touring which is why most people own motorhomes and caravans. I’ve already said in a previous post that I believe too much glamping damages the character of traditional campsites and I still believe that most people who camp want a camping experience, not a diluted hotel or holiday cottage experience.

We used to send kids up chimneys SB but it’s now frowned upon, it’s called progress(evolution small scale) I’m afraid the World can’t stop advancing because of minimal naysayers. Butlins & Pontins died a few times until someone decided post war offerings just didn’t cut it, the world of hi-de-hi is long gone thankfully👍🏻

Quite agree. I am not one of the "many" to whom AJ makes reference.

I’m another one👍🏻, it’s just another more encompassing name for a job that is generations old. The insightful suggests a form of psychology is employed. Psychology has been around a long while too & exceptionally useful🙂

Very true Bill. We had chalets as children but we were lucky enough to move on It may be people are going to be forced out of thier cars and flights but to dress it up as progress is a travesty. . I too had a post deleted it was when I commented on an excellent site who have a USP  "camping without mobile homes" but possibly  because it was in France.

Yes, it’s for people who think they embrace change, but actually the opposite applies. Nothing wrong with that, just wish they’d go and do it some place else.

I had a quick look at this thread, saw a few comments and moved on as I have not used many club sites recently-just three in 2021.

Looking at recent posts was drawn back and, whilst I know its not confined to the club, was dismayed to see;

"Research and Insight Manager"

It’s an inevitable consequence of employing consultants. It’s also a great way of putting the problem in a box.

It is change and it is the way forward. Like it or not, things will not stay as they are so we evolve and embrace the future. The alternative is to crawl away into a dark place.
