How does this Club compare with the ‘Other’?

I’ve started this discussion to try and collect together any direct comparisons between CC and C&CC.

One mentioned several times is that C&CC charge deposits with bookings, whereas CC does not. In that same discussion, it was mentioned that the C&CC membership was larger than CC’s, which surprised me. Can anyone provide the stats?

What other factual differences can be identified?

...So if you stop overnight and there is just the two of you why would you need to put everything out ?

Write your comments here...Because we need some boot space for the pizza deliveries.

Since you have quite a large caravan and there's only two of you, why do you need all that extraneous stuff anyway, particularly awning annexes?

We do not have the privacy problem with C&CC sites but do find them a bit less scenic somehow. Frankly we use whichever we find most conveniant or cheaper.

What annoys me about the C&CC though is the booking system as you cannot compare the price by just looking at the site details. You actualy have to get one step short of booking to get the fees which is unnecessarily time consuming.

...the other annoying thing about their booking system is that you have to book a minimum of 2 nights on a site.  That makes touring difficult sometimes.

Write your comments here...Then some people moan because they can't book a full week or fortnight because of a 1 night booking.

...Again, that is an issue that has been covered at length in previous posts ADP1963.  We are all members with equal rights but different needs.  We have a motorhome and enjoy touring from one site to another.  I don't see why we should be penalised for that because others want a fortnight in the same place.

...Its seem that according to wardens,  one nighters are only a real problem at W/ends,as quoted on here at times, when there are "empty" pitches that either fri or sat would have been filled for whole time

Malc just out of interest what do you do with all your stuff while it is in for service. Ours has to be totally emptied and it is currently filling part of the garage and a bedroom.

Write your comments here...We can't empty ours. There'd be nowhere to store it.

...I would think the "service" would not be able to be completed, there for compromising the warranty

In relation to not allowing one day stays at weekends. What if you stay for a week arriving and leaving on a Saturday. Effectively booking one day at each weekend. Is it proposed that this would not be allowed.

Write your comments here...I did not say or suggest you should be penalised or the other parties should be because of 1 night bookings. It does not bother us in any way as we are retired and source our sites and holiday periods according to the availability. However we have heard of many people not being able to stop a whole week because of a 1 night booking and moving off site and then coming back when the 1 night booking has left. As I said this does not apply to us,but I can't say we do not sypathise with them.
