How does this Club compare with the ‘Other’?

I’ve started this discussion to try and collect together any direct comparisons between CC and C&CC.

One mentioned several times is that C&CC charge deposits with bookings, whereas CC does not. In that same discussion, it was mentioned that the C&CC membership was larger than CC’s, which surprised me. Can anyone provide the stats?

What other factual differences can be identified?

Can people please edit posts, its making my little index pinky sore wiith all this scrolling. It's only a matter of using the delete button, do you need half a page of past threads to endorse your reply......Cool

+1

While i agree with what you say, deleting stuff isnt quite as easy on a tablet as on a device with a proper mouse....

despite this, ill try to keep the quoted section shorter...

however, the most relevent bit is 'who' someone is quoting/replying to....this forum gives no indication of this and, perhaps, leaving the quote a little longer goes some way to assisitng with this....

perhaps, when editing out the previous  'stuff' it could be replaced with ....'xxxxx said.....' and then add the reply....

it might be even easier just to copy the intended quote into the new reply, add the 'xxxx said' and then theres no growing posts...

Since you have quite a large caravan and there's only two of you, why do you need all that extraneous stuff anyway, particularly awning annexes?

Write your comments here...I think most people only use their caravan occasionally for perhaps a weekend or couple of weeks holiday once a year. In that situation, they can store most things at home and don't need much in their caravan. However, as we caravan all the year round, 365 days a year, we need as much in the caravan as others would need in a normal home. We do store some stuff at the house e.g. the tent is not needed and so kept at our address. We don't always put the side annexes up either but we like to keep them with us in case we need to use them.

The awning is very big and so needs furniture to fill it. Otherwise it would look empty and not very homely.

..So if you stop overnight and there is just the two of you why would you need to put everything out ?

.Because we need some boot space for the pizza deliveries.

Malc..are you expecting to deliver pizzas all over the country?

Write your comments here...No, just the local area but we have to have space to store the thermal boxes that keep the pizzas hot and they are quite large and take up a lot of boot space. Sometimes we have more than one delivery at a time and so may have to carry three or more large thermal boxes.

Some deliveries are in remote areas where it can take 20 minutes to reach the address. The food needs to stay piping hot for that time. After all, you wouldn't like your pizza delivered to you cold, would you?

.....forgive me, M, but should this be the other way round.....

ie, one might have a lot of necessary stuff, so therefore one might need a bigger space to put it in.....

...but this is the first time ive seen someone specifically carrying loads of 'stuff' to fill a large space, which itself might not be needed if you didnt bring the 'stuff' in the first place?Wink

Write your comments here...We use all of the stuff we have in the awning. The two ring electric hob and picnic table in the awning means there is more space for cooking than if it had to be done in the caravan. Having more space means a bigger vegetable preparation area etc. The relaxers provide comfortable seating with plenty of back support and the folding coffee table is also useful for drinks etc. The other five folding chairs can seat guests. The larder in the kitchen area of the awning provides extra storage space for tinned foods, jars, pickles etc. We can also have extra fridge space by having a cool box in the awning too. So yes the awning is full of stuff but it's all useful.
