How does this Club compare with the ‘Other’?

I’ve started this discussion to try and collect together any direct comparisons between CC and C&CC.

One mentioned several times is that C&CC charge deposits with bookings, whereas CC does not. In that same discussion, it was mentioned that the C&CC membership was larger than CC’s, which surprised me. Can anyone provide the stats?

What other factual differences can be identified?

Looks like the C&Cc forum is poorly planned and implemented.  Its doomed before it starts.  My advice would be for them to invest in  proper commercially produced forum software and run it as a separate entity.

If they continue down the current path their forum will be worse than useless.

Rocky, i respect other member views on this ,and yes you have to do what each person thinks is right , yes my name is on the C&CC website ,but IS it my real name ??????

your real name and what you call yourself are two different thingsCool

Of course its your real name on the C&CC, with a few more clicks on another tab it leads me direct to your shop and website, you are the sole director and your turnover Cool

Exactly Dave , it's already out there , so why am i bottered about using my name on the website, with a bit of time we could find a bit of info about most membersCool. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

its 'interesting' that both clubs decided on a bespoke forum approach despite the major forums all using 'off the shelf' similar products.

if the CCC had been paying attention to CT, it would have seen that there is much missing functionality that is 'std' with most off the shelf forums.

CT will need a large revamp to accommodate the features most forum users gake for granted, why the CCC would plough the same furrow, i dont really know....

Perhaps each is so nervously looking over their shoulder at the other that they daren’t divert too far from the common path?

The thing is Huskydog - I'm an OAP, a blonde and not even a member of C&CC so can't access their forum but I now know most of your postcode; your name; your partner's name now and previous; other people who've lived at your address and could easily find more as mentioned already.

And people think this is okay?

....also, this 'issue' about sperate sign ins for the forum and the rest of the site elements....

ive just logged out of CT.....

gone to the Easy Book page....

it requires me to log in......

i log in....

I switch to CT.......

I need no seperate log in to use it....

I am alredy logged in from my earlier log in to Easy Book

is this not exactly the same as the concern raised above?

Write your comments here...As far as i can see, apart from holding a booking for a defined time, there is no time out function on the C & CC web site. It is important if using that site to remember to sign out. Most secure sites, especially where finance transactions take place have a time out function.

Apologies if someone has mentioned this already, I haven't looked at the thread since yesterday evening.

Not a member of the C&CC any longer, so their website doesn't  interest me. This one however does, and it needs to be made more robust and less prone to silly glitches.Especially if they expect us to use it more for contact and other uses.I still prefer paper actually, so not keen to go fully digital.
