How does this Club compare with the ‘Other’?

I’ve started this discussion to try and collect together any direct comparisons between CC and C&CC.

One mentioned several times is that C&CC charge deposits with bookings, whereas CC does not. In that same discussion, it was mentioned that the C&CC membership was larger than CC’s, which surprised me. Can anyone provide the stats?

What other factual differences can be identified?

When I realised that if you posted your full name would appear on your post I immediately contacted the forum admin. Their reply was that as its a members only forum they felt there should be no conflict in using full names which I suspect is well meaning but rather naive. I immediately replied saying that being a members forum is no guarentee of privacy and I said I would not be contributing whilst that was in place. In fairness it did seem that they might be open to change that if sufficient members expressd a view so might I suggest those that would like to join and take part contact forum admin expressing their concerns about using their own name.

David, you say that you don't want your name on the forum ,but when I looked at your website you give lots of information about yourself and family , with respect am I missing the point??

P.S ,great website

In reply to Moulesy's post. That's what I've queried with the C & CC  because the forum should be completely separate from any other dealings with the club.

I had meant to look at the forum but will not now unless the changes needed are made. I have booked pitches using their site. Does this mean when I do this my name comes up?

It's a valid question - as those of us who have joined in on the forum only logged on to the website as usual. There was no separate registration for the forum.

are CT members that use their 'real names' (rather than a pseudonym) more 'at risk' than those that dont?

if so, why?

this has been mentioned as a reason for not using the C&CC forum, yet a great many use 'real names' on CT.

Some expressing concern are using 'real names' on CT, so whats the specific difference?

if its an issue, should they stop using CT, or change their login 'name'?

....also, this 'issue' about sperate sign ins for the forum and the rest of the site elements....

ive just logged out of CT.....

gone to the Easy Book page....

it requires me to log in......

i log in....

I switch to CT.......

I need no seperate log in to use it....

I am alredy logged in from my earlier log in to Easy Book

is this not exactly the same as the concern raised above?

After reading on here I had a look at the C&CC forum. We are in both clubs and I think they have equal benefits.

I dont visit their website much as its the only website I visit where I have trouble logging on so when I eventually got signed in saw an error message and reports of others getting the same.

I am not exactly dumb with computers and for various reasons have most modern browsers installed but got the same error message with Firefox 43, Safari, Chrome, Edge, and IE11 on Windows 10,   Chrome again on Android and Safari again but this time on iOS9.2 so to me its shows a problem with their site

It took me longer than I would want to get to the home brew forum and I am not sure many would want to search (ok I have it book marked now like other forums)

I wish the C&CC luck with it but they need to get it sorted quick and get more easily found access sorted, but the only place I had found out about was on here the CC site!!
