How does this Club compare with the ‘Other’?

I’ve started this discussion to try and collect together any direct comparisons between CC and C&CC.

One mentioned several times is that C&CC charge deposits with bookings, whereas CC does not. In that same discussion, it was mentioned that the C&CC membership was larger than CC’s, which surprised me. Can anyone provide the stats?

What other factual differences can be identified?

the CCC site is not on general release yet, AFAIK, and will take a while to get up to speed....a forum relies on content and that cant be made up.....it come from users.

to get over the 'errors' issue, just clear the cache .....easy to do on each of your browsers, no prons using after that..

but, of course, the content is mightily thin at the moment.....

The current C&CC experience may be a taster of what is to come, for us, when the new software arrives.

What is it with these forums that requires a regular cleaning of cache?

What's wrong with using a real name? I always think some people post stuff using a pseudonym that they wouldn't if they posted under their real name so I think it would be better if we were all forced to use a real name. Some use a pseudonym then have their own picture as an avatar!

So long as its only your name visible and no other personal details that's fine, no worse than the electoral roll which has your address as well. I have been on many forums that show who is online at the time and see no issues.

HD, I can't speak for others but I for one am not suggesting you will suffer what you have written is possible. I am playing safe by not putting my full name up to be possibly scrutinised by potential ne'er do wells. What you decide is entirely up to you. I will continue to employ a degree of anonymity with anyone I don't trust fully.

Write your comments here...because when you go to a site it caches certain stuff locally to make loading faster so when they change a page it uses the cached version so fails to load the newer page so clearing the cache ensures the new page and features load correctly.

Of course its your real name on the C&CC, with a few more clicks on another tab it leads me direct to your shop and website, you are the sole director and your turnover Cool

....but this is true of any CT member who uses their real name.

my point was that folk have decried the way the CCC site is set up, yet the same is happening on CT.

similarly, the sign-on for CT also covers the rest of the site (bookings, etc) and logging in to bookings also gives you access to CT.

im not suggesting either is right or wrong, merely trying to understand why it seems to be an 'issue' on the CCC site yet folk are gaily using CT that seems to work in the same way.

Thanks for that, Michael, it makes sense although, with high speed broadband, I’d have thought the need to be economical was not so necessary. Isn’t there a way to switch it off (demand a refresh every time)?
