Covid 19 and membership

As all sites and CC approved sites have been suspended for 3 months (30th June) are we to expect the CMHC to suspend all memberships for 3 months.? My membership is due in July so I'm a bit loathed to not be able to use it and go anywhere only to be hit with a renewal as the suspension is lifted.

You really need to get my post in context to what the thread is about , before jumping in with inapropriate commentsundecided

Well it would be nice if occasionally one could  make at least a little bit of sense of your posts then!!

Well ,I’ll take my chance that the “club” will still be there when this is all over , but if it’s not there will probably be  lots of other camp sites to choose from !

I agree with you huskydog its not a life saving club so what will be will be there's  plenty of other clubs just as good

But are there plenty of other clubs? I can only think of one.

As most people have already said, there are far bigger things to worry about at the moment than 3 months of wasted club membership which equates to about £13.50! I have just renewed and would never expect this to be refunded. It is OUR club, and we need it to survive this, so we should support the club, its staff and sites, and look forward to a time when the caravan and motorhome community can get back on the road!  Fingers crossed we don't loose members, and the club doesn't loose staff. Thats all we should be concerned with :)

I am sure it has but how much income is being lost due to the sites being closed?

For simplicity, there are about 200 sites, so over a peak BH period some will be full, some not, so let's assume 60% occupancy rate across the network over the Easter weekend, at 50 pitches per site average (probably too low) and one pitch over peak will bring in an average of £25. so the income for one night alone is £150,000. Over a BH weekend perhaps three nights is perhaps £450000. Then there are the two BH weekends in may as well

Now I have no idea what the occupancy rate is between peaks but some sites are full all the time and so you get the idea how long reserves will last.

However you look at it, membership fees (£16M p.a. and 14 pecent of income) only make a small difference to the Club's typical running costs of £110M p.a. I would have thought the latter would be cut right back as much as possible during the emergency. Nevertheless membership fees will still only be a small portion of costs and will hardly contribute a great deal to the Club in a prolonged lockdown of the country. It would seem to me it would make very little difference to the Club’s mounting debt position if the Club was to offer membership extensions for the duration of the suspension of Club services. At least it might help retain those members who chose not to pay membership fees in times of hardship.

TW £16 million p.a. (rounded to the nearest million) was the income from membership fees taken from the 2018 accounts.

Hence my edit, PD. I realised my mistake after I posted 👍

I am not usually that quick TW. smile Never mind it saves the doubters questioning the source.

Did the C&CC steal the march over the C&MC?

I have had an extension added to another subscription apart from the C&CC.

There must be very few subscription services not offering extensions even if some are by application only?
