As all sites and CC approved sites have been suspended for 3 months (30th June) are we to expect the CMHC to suspend all memberships for 3 months.? My membership is due in July so I'm a bit loathed to not be able to use it and go anywhere only to be hit with a renewal as the suspension is lifted.

There's a lot of generalisation and second guessing in this thread.  CT is not indicative of the CC membership, so a few have given their reason for not renewing, fair enough but what about the tens of thousands who don't post

tivano, as the DG says in his recent communication....its a members club which relies (in part) on the subscription base.....you either support that or leave...your choice. After all the subscription fee is little more than a bottle of single malt.wink

Most clubs in the situation that has now affected most of the world,  without the ongoing support of members, may not , and some will not, be able to survive, this situation,  even if as we hope, there may be an easing of the restrictions,

When I was out with Rosa this morning, some of the local cricket club volunteers were again, working on the pitches in the hope that there may be some play later this year,?

But as they were saying, there are rumblings from some "members"  that as the club house is closed they should get a refund on their annual fees,  not thinking that it is the annual membership that keeps it afloat , .and the money taken in the bar ,is just to assist in helping to fund the extras that some have come to expect as the norm

I think I may have posted this already, I want the club to be still there when all this is over, if it costs me £12.50 then I'm personally prepared to pay it. While clubs sites are closed the club will still have payments to be made.

Our bowls club is not offering refunds or extending membership. Mine is due to renew next week and, to be honest, I'm more concerned about not being able to pay it than expecting anything back! The club is losing about  £2000 a week on rink fees so I'll pay up gladly even though we're not likely to be able to play for some months. smile

My membership is due to renew at the end of the month and despite being on a low income, I am more than happy to carry on paying as at the moment, the thought of being able to go away in my caravan is one of the few things keeping my spirits up!!  I have just made a booking for August and intend to make a couple more for later on in the year!

Personally, I am more content just to survive the virus, along with my loved ones at the moment. We are fortunate not to be in a delicate position financially, but have a great deal of sympathy for those that are. We shall take stock of our many Memberships once we (🤞) emerge out the other side.
