Covid 19 and membership

As all sites and CC approved sites have been suspended for 3 months (30th June) are we to expect the CMHC to suspend all memberships for 3 months.? My membership is due in July so I'm a bit loathed to not be able to use it and go anywhere only to be hit with a renewal as the suspension is lifted.

No I am not saying the private sector acted with more responsibility. But we strongly believe it should have been more proactive and lead the industry by example, it failed miserable more concerned about lost income than people.

If they had acted sooner the other club would have followed sooner, and a strong message would have been delivered to the campsite industry.

Okay fair enough.

I tend to judge both clubs, and private sites as all being equally responsible for their own individual behaviour throughout this crisis. They all should have closed immediately and the government should have enforced this as it did for pubs and restaurants.

Being completely honest I could not say I'd never give any of them my money again, but if you are intent on this then I admire you in having the conviction of your principles.

In your position I'd be tempted to cancel my membership and try to claim some sort of refund (don't know how successful this would be but worth a try?).

CCC in their Covid update dated yesterday have announced that memberships will be extended to cover the time that sites are closed to ensure members get a full 12 month of use ‘no matter what happens’

Maybe CMC may now take action regarding this discussion!

They seem to have already made there position clear in that email. The most that is likely would be similar to English Heritage, an extension with an opt out. Or more likely an extension with an opt in.😀

Let's hope thay do the right thing for the members as thay state its a member's club but no evidence of that yet only please keep paying your membership with nothing in return

Would you like something to return to?

If not and it may cause hardship then I can understand your view.

But the "right thing" is subjective depending on your point of view.

If we're lucky, £50 is neither here nor there but, to some whose jobs are folding at the present time, £50 is a lot. I blame no one in those circumstances for wanting a refund or for deciding not to renew.

See page 1 for my own personal view.

The membership fee does not normally just give you access to the CL network and a £12 discount on clubsites which like most leisure in the UK has had to close,,of course if you are not working ,  ,and also not been furloughed, then the membership fee may be needed elsewhere
