2016 Performance Review

Just read through the 2016 Performance review as published in this months magazine.  I have a couple of questions.

1. Great play is made that membership retention has improved (marginally).  Yet I cannot, see anywhere in the article what the current membership number is and what is the year to year trend?   As a membership organisation surely this is a relevant figure.

2.  Regarding the name change.  The following statement is made.  The Club recognises that a minority of members do not agree with the change.  What are the facts and research that justify and confirm this statement?  Do you actually have any idea if it's a minority, majority or 50/50?

Probably a scripted answer by the "Modern" PR department and meant to convey nothing.

.  Statistics -- All hype and no substance. The truth is that the CMC suffers from an image of being a load of curtain twitching, grumpy old wrinklies, so set in their ways that nothing will ever improve,  therefore there is nothing to attract the young or families.

The C&CC is the organisation better suited to out going younger people and families. hence the huge improvement in their membership.

wink

And why would we want both clubs to be the same? One for oldies , one for youngsters and when the youngsters get old they switch club. Win Win.

I understand the main increase in membership of the ccc is via tent campers as it the "cool"thing to be into at the moment

Tent camping is also allowed on a number of CMC sites JV. . And why not ?,  Companies who provide campsites should welcome everybody who enjoy the hobby of camping.

I am sure they do on the 40 club sites out of well over 200. About less than 20% while the CCC welcomes tents on most if not all of its sites, so if you were a tent camper which club would you join?

The new expensive name says the high ups have decided not to incorporate tents.
