The same Club, just better...

Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

Exactly which members were consulted? I certainly wasn't.  If you show the logo to someone would they know what it meant? Why were members not asked to vote on this?  Why the big announcement? Someone on an ego trip spending many thousands of pounds on an unnecessary exercise. Ifvthis Club was run for its members they would have been included in any discussion.  I certainly wont be displaying the logo.

We are quite new to both the Club and Motorhome ownership  - really like the new rebrand and logo - it does feel more inclusive so thank you!

It is also encouraging and important to embrace change and welcome membership from younger people and families to preserve the future longevity and success of the club.

Its interesting to me that the majority (though not all) of the complaints are from Caravaners - I wonder why this is? We only want to share in the fun and joy of your hobby!😃

We're also relatively new (4 years) to both the Club and Motorhome ownership (and also to the 'other' Club). We've been maintaining membership of both, partly to compare them, and partly to give us a choice when touring.

I have to say that 'the other Club' often seems more tuned to member's needs, whereas, at times, this Club seems as if it's run for the convenience of the on-site staff - and to impose rules strictly just because "those are the rules".

The new logo is meaningless and a waste of money.

The name change seems sensible, but need not be so high-key and could have just been brought in gradually.

The 'Mission Statement' is just 'PR speak' and meaningless.

It sounds as if the treatment of CLs has been worst than thoughtless - absolutely appalling!

And the whole thing must be costing thousands that could far better have been spent on improving facilities, etc..

In summary - a huge waste of OUR (Members') money!!

13:14 for me......first I heard of it! Like the vast majority have said......What waste of our money But what would we know, we all loved the T V program didn't we???

Now we have something else to defend the Club over

still defending the indefensible!!!

And another thing..An email to me from the club suggesting that something exciting was happening included the following slogan:

"Open your doors on great"

Ah, well.   That's great.

Hi Janhsmn,

It's the 'getting out and doing your own thing' - those are your experiences and your adventures, we want to improve the services we offer to help you, and the new generation of explorers, do that.

If you would like more information about our values, there's more information at www.camc.com/discover

Rochelle, That is still no more than 'PR Speak'!  We want some concrete examples of what the Club is actually doing (or proposing) to improve the web-site, the actual sites & facilities, etc. etc..

The more meaningless PR-speak you put out, the more we think this is all just a total waste of members' money.

After today it will be back to normal, all you once a year moaners will crawl back into the woodwork and it will be business as usual. With any luck some might review their membership and never be heard of again, whoever is left then happy holidays laughing

By the way, brilliant logo and re-branding, caravanners and motorhomers both of equal status.

I just love it.

Hi Moulsey,

When managing pitches on site there are occasions when it is necessary for us to take into account weight, length and/or size of an outfit and this can apply to both caravans and motorhomes, as not all pitches can accommodate all types of outfits.

But when it comes to motorhomers being able to book specifically, no that's not strictly true.

Rochelle

Saying "that's not strictly true" rather implies that there is some truth in it!  Please explain further.

£1000's?? Five or even six figures more like

Signage for Club sites, affiliates and Cl's and installing them

Corporate uniforms for wardens and name badges

Letter headings

business cards

Membership Card artwork fees, scrapping off surplus stocks

Brochure reprints

Consultancy fees

Research costs...........quite cheap really

Third Party costs

And for why again? I thought caravans and motorhomes already were members

I'm sure all the campers with tents will be delighted at our new branding?!!

Perhaps they could rebrand us again and call it the 'Us and Them Club' and waste some more money instead of actually listening to the members and taking note of their needs and wants??

Will this new generation of explorers (whatever they look like!) have some manners, be able to converse with fellow explorers and 'clean the bowl' after themselves?? Hope so.
