Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

Poolefarm have you thought about jumping ship and becoming a CS with the other club?  Or with the Freedom Camping Club.

You're being let down very badly.

Funily enough, today we did discussed jumping ship JayEss.  We are going to sleep on it and await a discussion with the club tomorrow.  I am sure there will be another avenue for us if we do.  Cheers!

Stop the decline in sites on the network would be a start,so after a couple of years of spending thousands on changing the Colour of signs on sites,we are now going to spend even more changing them all again? +now it will be even more as everything needs changing

You say it was based on our feedback, well first I heard about it was from another facebook page not even from the club.... hate the new name and logo.

I've been a member of the Caravan Club for 108 years now. I originally started camping in an Hessian Sack for many years where I met my first of five wifes on an holiday to Scunthorpe before we bought our first tent, We've had Ridge Tents and Frame Tents, we've had prop up, pop up and even blow up tents before buying our first trailer tent. We then moved onto Caravans, Folding and  Pop-Up at first and then normal 2 berth, 3 berth, 4 berth and even a 7 1/2 berth. We are now the proud owners of a luxury Motorhome and the point I wanted to make now eludes me. Thank you 😜

By the amount of posts on here, those in favour are a very tiny minority, and as in life can be ignoredwink

Won't make a jot of difference though will it. I doubt the powers will be reading this and thinking... damn, we'll have to abolish the changes because the majority don't like it.

You'll get used to it wink

Twenty five years of membership, but as the years progress fewer and fewer signs of being a club for its members. Old boys thinking they are running it, steered by young bucks desperate to justify their salary.

Thanks Bakers2 for your support.

Yes a bit of a slap in the face but I am over the shock now.  We have been asked to speak to the ladies in head office regarding this.

We try hard to ensure that we represent the club in the very best way possible.  Our site is very well maintained and we are always trying to think of ways of enhancing our guests experience when they are here.  I have lost count of the number of caravanning and motorhome guests that have joined the club through us specifically because they wanted to stay here; this is for both UK and EU guests.  So a very sad state of affairs.  It may perhaps mean that we will have to scale down our re-investment of the site for this year in someway.

I understand  and have read some views on the discussion pages that some people think that running a CL is easy and money for old rope. It is not, especially if you do it well and give it your all!

Here's to a happy season for all of us!

Hi PF. I no longer use CLs. I used them a great deal when I had children. I always felt privileged to do so. I never underestimated the work involved nor the commitment. Well done that fella.

We tour using mainly club sites these days and move on every 5 days. Spend little time on site but still believe that CLs are important to the club and saddened that problems with the 'New Improved Club' with regard to its website have not been sorted after, what to me, seems an awful long time.

The main advantage of the other club is that you can have 5 caravans/MH and 10 tents but obviously tents need more infrastructure. It's worth a thought.

Their site search works as well

There's already a motorcaravanners club. Exclusively for motorhomes I believe. Same initials but not as inclusive. wink

Okay, how about the Parkers and Pitchers Institute. 🤔

Perhaps there is a need now for a new club made up of CL owners and the people who want to stay on them. Nothing fancy, just a yearly handbook with a map, and a wee website which lets you book any of the CLs.
