Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

Hi there!

A straight answer, please. How much is all this costing?

Is it REALLY necessary - I think not!.

Dewi.

All the talk of the cost of this exercise - I would think it works out at a few pennies per member so IMO not worth getting worked up about.

A penny per member will only bring in about £10,000. So all those new signs for 200 sites, clothing, stickers and note paper, plus the odd flag or two will certainly add up to a few pennies,

AA & RAC do not seem to have a problem

Some companies benefit from a name change some don't, Aviva came about because Norwich Union was considered too insular.

It's horses for courses but despite the history, I think the Caravan Club is one that will benefit. New name, new outlook.

Just had a little play with the colors. What do you think.?

Posted on 21/02/2017 15:59

Big improvement - now swap that meaningless swirly logo for (or changed to incorporate) an updated interpretation of the pennant and I'd be accepting of this rebranding.

Just because they want to rebrand and update the club, doesn't mean you have to discard your heritage. The old red and green colours are as much associated with the club's brand as red is with Coca Cola and blue is with Ford.

Thinks it's pretty disgusting that we read about all these changes on Facebook before the Caravan Club inform the members!

But we're not 'customers' - we are Members.  There is a difference.

Posted on 21/02/2017 16:01

Yes, you get to vote on the committee membership. Thats the difference. Did you?

Has the CC gone into partnership with Walls Ice Cream?

Posted on 21/02/2017 16:02

I'll think of this every time I see the new logo!!!

Doesn't quite fit with being an adventurer, pioneer and explorer that I'm suppose to be coolcool

No it doesn't Husky smile the aim of this rebrand is not just about the name change, but about the way we help you to get more about the great outdoors.

You can find out more about our new values here or tune in to Facebook at 10:30 for the official announcement...

Posted on 21/02/2017 16:03

That's great stuff, Rochelle.

So, to help all us members who are confused, could you tell me, please:

  1. precisely what are you going to do differently?
  2. when you say you are 'going to help us get more about the great outdoors', more what?

Whilst I concur with the overwhelming view that this is just a bit of an expensive corporate ego trip, no one has addressed the real issue that emanates from this "change". How is the Club going to cope with the influx of the new members it intends attracting  when it is struggling with the existing membership wanting pitches and we are additionally seeing a decline in the number of club sites.
