Welcome to the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Ever since we came together as a group of outdoor enthusiasts 110 years ago, our Club has continued on a journey of discovery. It's time for us to make some changes for the better by redefining who we are to help you get the most of the great outdoors.

I’m sure you all have lots of questions, please post your feedback and queries in this thread.

What does our new logo mean? We created a video to explain how we created it:

800,000 members in this club, a few hundred activists are not going to make the difference you are hoping for.

I wasn't saying I was unhappy. I was referring to all the other posters who are not happy, that no matter how many times members say it, it ain't going to happen. I too am quite happy with the changes.

Me too. I am happy to wait and see what the effect is rather than immediately condemning the rebranding. Rome wasn't built in a day.

One of my major concerns, apart from the profligate waste of money on this 'ego project' is the cavalier way that the CL owners have been treated, involving them in considerable disruption and expense. Add in the totally crass implementation of the website that has also impacted on their businesses and I am beginning to wonder if the CAMC wish to the see the CL network wither on the vine in favour of more profitable income streams. They've got to generate the income to fund this exercise somehow.

"Dog and bone" springs to mind , why not just bury the old one and enjoy the new one ???

I am not convinced that there is much real prejudice at all. I do not think that the name change itself is what upsets people.

Just out of interest, does anyone know what the ratio of caravans to motorhomes to others is in the Club? The actual figures, that is, not just guesses.

Bored with this discussion now as there are far more important issues in the world.

I don't care what the club is called, i don't care what colour uniforms the wardens wear, or the colours of the signs. Nor do i mind who, or what, I pitch up to when i use the sites.

I do mind that when i use the sites, the people are friendly, the sites are safe, the facilities are spotless (some members take note) and that we enjoy ourselves.

We all know a cuppa tastes better made outdoors, whatever we're called and whatever it's made in.

Rochelle - three questions -

Firstly, in order for people to put this issue into some sort of context, what was the budget that was set for this re-branding and the launch of the new name?

Secondly - what is the additional revenue and profit that the Club has projected will arise from this re-brand each year?

Thirdly, what do we abbreviate the Club to now? It used to be CC and the other lot were C&CC, but I'm seeing CMC, CMHC, C&MHC, CAMC, CAMHC. Surely in order to establish the brand, it needs to be referred to in a common way and not left to individuals to make up their own versions?

I agree with ET. I couldn't care one way or the other if you turn up in a motor home, there are some fantastic motor homes out there .... but I wouldn't  want one ..... quite happy with our caravan & tow car.
