This was our first overseas trip with the 'van and all went smoothly. We went in August so the site was very busy with lots of children though they weren't playing around the pitches. Whilst the facilities are fairly basic they were clean and perfectly adequate. The onsite shop was very well stocked and the freshly baked pastries for breakfast were a nice treat! Delft is about a 20 minute walk and is a beautiful town - the market on a Thursday is a must visit - definitely try the lekkerbekker! Den Haag and Amsterdam are easily reached by train and the windmills at Kinderdijk are around a 40 min drive and are worth a visit.
Just can't get enough of Delft.
Like Taxidad, we went back to Delftse Houte for the 3rd year running this year, this time for a fortnight. Suffice to day we have provisionally booked with the site staff for next year. Delft really is THE most beautiful city to visit and we found a part of the city centre this year which we'd not discovered on our 2 previous visits. The site staff were, as usual, lovely, friendly and courteous as were the people of Delft generally. Cycling is obviously the perfect way to get about- Den Haag is only 40 minutes by bike- and it's so easy by following the cycle route numbers. Get the map from tourist info, plot your route making a note of the numbers then follow the signs- simples! Only 30 minutes from The Hook. What more could you want? Just one thing- the exit you want off the A13 is junction 9 not J8.
First visit
Excellent site could not fault it at all. No need to use car able to walk into Delft and public transport very reliable . Lots to see and do. Plenty of places to eat and good variety to choose from . The staff very helpful would highly recommend this site.

Back Again
Back for our third year running at this wonderful site. Why go back here? 30 minutes from the ferry so is an excellent way to stop on the way back home, or if your unsure about driving abroad a quick site to get to from the ferry. As with previous review don't follow the sat nav but head for Ikea off Junction 8 on the A13 and turn left then right. Second reason for staying here is the ease of access and miles and miles of easy bike riding even for 2 55+ adults - saw loads of kids cycling as well. We still haven't covered every part of this area - by a cycle route map from the Tourist information shop in town and its as easy as pick a destination and following the numbers to get there. Third reason is the town of Delfte itself - one of the prettiest towns in Holland, don't miss out of the Thursday market, nor the beautiful churches and fantastic view for the top of the church spire. Den Haag, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Gouda and beach's all easy to reach. Behind the site is the Houte with its lakes and cycle paths and separate walking paths - be aware that the far end of the "beach" as they call it is for nudists! WE were very lucky to be there on the first Sunday in August when they hold the flower festival where more than 50 boats travel along the canals all decorated with flowers and themes.

Don't follow SAT NAV to Delftse Hout site
Lovely site, perfect for walking into Delftse. Don't follow Sat Nav to site though as takes you down road with trench at end, only suitable for buses. When you get off motorway exit, head towards big IKEA and turn left just in front of it where site is sign posted. Make sure you try fried fish at market in town - delicious! Also, did day trip to Amsterdam, only 40 mins away.
we went last year and enjoyed so much decided to go back again
A brilliant site with very friendly staff .We took our new electric bikes this time which was great to explore further villages.Went on train to Rotterdam which was very interesting also took tram to The Hague then got back on and went to the seaside town would definately like to go back as the Dutch campers are so friendly in contrast to a group of four vans from Cornwall who were in there click and some of them could not say good morning.

Convenient Site
Convenient to the ferry and walking into Delft. Used as a short stop (2 nights) en route to Denmark. Some pitches difficult to access with larger caravan. Unfortunately our designated pitch was incorrectly marked on site plan (reported to reception) and we overshot and had to go around again but could not make the tight turn with a 7.2m caravan and had to unhitch to get through the gap. Site staff friendly and helpful . Did not try the restaurant. Facilities fine. Would probably use again but would be extra careful when assessing access.

Ideal location
Spent 9th to 13th July at this site. The only minor down sides were some long term noisy campers on the plot behind us and folk queuing up to empty their loos in the motorhome grey water drain!!!
The up sides include extremely friendly and helpful staff who spoke perfect English (although not needed as I speak Dutch). The facilities were clean.
Using the bus from the campsite was a little expensive at €4.40 return each however walking into centre of Delft was about 20 minutes (we are late 60's early 70's). Coffee then a further 15 minutes took us to the tram or station. Day tickets for the tram can be purchased at the camp site. These can be used all day and took us to The Hague. A trip to Rotterdam was also on the agenda, a cheap 20 minute rail trip. So much to see in Rotterdam but the newly built Markthal (Market Hall) is a must see and within easy walking distance. Only drove motorhome twice, once for a supermarket trip and the other for visiting family.
All in all a good site to be based.
Great location and friendly site
Great location for visiting Delft and amsterdam. Pitches were good size and quiet site. Always visited by ducks and their chicks. Great cycling and a large lake nearby. Staff very friendly and helpful. Facilities were good and clean but restaurant area needs upgrading. Good site to relax and visit this area in Holland, easy walk into Delft.

Good central Location
Just returned from a 7 night stay. went mainly to see Tour de France. Start in Utrecht. This sight was central for travelling on the Rail network to Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht. site was easy to get too from Rotterdam port. only used car for 1 day out of the seven as public transport was good and also able to walk/ cycle to Delft. facility's were excellent and staff very friendly and helpful.Only downside pitches very close together. would recommend and will probably return again some time.
