York back to normal

Just spent 2 nights at Rowntree, we were meet by very welcoming & helpful wardens. The site & facilities immaculate. The site & wardens are a big improvement on the site about six months ago when the site was run by ill mannered wardens. Thanks to the caravan club & the present wardens for sorting out one of the jewels in the caravan club crown. A warden can make or break a club members holiday. Looking foreword to booking next year. Well Done. Many Thanks. Smile

Another great weekend

Met by a warden on entry which speeds up the checking in process to avoid a jam on the approach road! Great location and excellent facilities. Very clean shower block and friendly wardens. Will definitely return.

Another great visit

We come to York every year and this year was just as great as all the others . We were met by a warden and went through check in and strait to a lovely large pitch plenty of room for caravan awning and car , the new part of the site is blending in as tho it had always been there . The shower and toilets are emculate and the ramp is a great addition for the disabled , I miss the outside washing up area as I like washing up outside as it's like being in France  ( the inside one is great tho ) .the wi if is not very good as I managed to get connected on the first day then the next 4 no connection think it needs an upgrade . Hope to get back next year if we can get a booking !

Great location

This was the first time at Rowntree Park. We were there for a purpose (The Yorkshire Marathon) so weren't too bothered about facilities as long as we could be as near the marathon start as possible (at the university). However, we were greatly surprised by the number and quality of the showers etc. It's not the greenest of sites, but who needs grass when there's Rowntree Park itself next door and some great walks along the river bank. The walk into the city centre was relatively flat and traffic free (again along the river bank). The wardens were very welcoming and helpful and all in all, it was very pleasant few days on the site. Would we return? Definitely!

Wonderful weekend

Thanks to Ian and his team for making us most welcome and the site is immaculate. The friendly atmosphere and local attractions make this one of our favorite club sites. We met some fellow club members we had not met for at least twenty three years; so we had a lot of catching up to do. In all, a memorable weekend and look forward to our next visit to this site. city location

This site is in the heart of the city. A little bit noisey, poor TV reception, no grass anywhere. You need a key to go the loo, putting up an awning is a nightmare and the geese will keep you up all night. We are however desperatly trying to book another weekend. Fantastic location and lovely, helpful wardens.

Has to be the best site in the network...

I have managed to book caravan weekends away, odd nights and last minute cancellations here. In fact I have several trips coming up - and these have all been due to other people cancelling - so if you are prepared to watch the booking system, there ARE spaces to be had. Took our brand new motorhome here last week - I drove and husband met me there. Had never driven a M/H so was nervous about the whole experience. I shouldn't have been. The pitches are so well maintained and spacious that it was breeze - even getting it on the blocks. 5 mins to "Bishy Rd" and all its trendy shops and eateries and ten-12 mins to Clifford Tower and then on to the centre. The site is lovely and very quiet apart from the Minster bells - how lovely are they...and the wardens are the nicest, friendliest wardens I've seen - especially when you consider how busy they are! Booking in was a breeze, the toilets are unbelievably spotless and modern and the whole site offers an experience without parallel in my opinion. An absolute jewel in the CC's crown.

Rowntree York

We managed to have a late availability for two nights in Early October after touring the north of England for two weeks. Just have to say what a brilliant site it was. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The site itself was absolutely spotless and so well cared for. It was an expectedly really busy site but the staff were all calm and happy. Well done Rowntree.
