Another excellent stay

Stayed for three nights prior to Easter and was not disappointed. The Wardens were friendly and helpful and kept the site immaculate. We had pitch No.81 which was big enough for our motorhome and would accommodate a larger motorhome with overhang over the grass verge, so unsure why 8.5m is the maximum unit size. Access also not a problem.

Great city break.

The organisation of this site made a busy arrival period work extremely well. We didn't even need to reverse onto a pitch as 2 wardens swooped in and offered to push it quickly onto the pitch. The number of arrivals and departures each day mean this isn't the most peaceful of sites but I suspect that most people come here to visit York itself and don't spend much of the day on site. We did use the park adjacent to the site a couple of times for walking the dog and relaxing in the sunshine. Be warned though, the ice cream van takes advantage of a captive audience with the most expensive ice creams ever! I heard families walking away complaining about it being a "rip off" but reluctant to disappoint the children. The location of this site is perfect for access to the city and the facilities are well maintained. Ideal city break.

Welcoming, very helpful, central to town.

I am disabled and stayed on this site earlier in the year. The team could not have been more helpful in helping us. The disabled facilities were very warm and extremely clean. The site is close enough to use mobility scooter to get to town. Thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to go back. Very pleased.

All sbout the location!

This is the most expensive site that we have stayed on ( I unwittingly booked for during the Easter school holidays) and it is always fully booked at the weekend practically a year in advance. But I understand why. The short walk into the centre of York is worth paying extra for & we will definitely return (which will probably mean booking on the day next years' bookings are released!). Super location. You get what you pay for.

Probably the handiest city site in Britain

We have been several times to this York site because we can park up and walk, cycle or dare I say shop being so close to the city. Washrooms are spotless and the staff very friendly and efficient. We arrived at midday with many other caravans and motorhomes, but were on our pitch and having a brew within minutes. Highly recommended.
