Another great stay

I have reviewed this site many times before. It’s a great site for visiting York. Easy walk into town with all the fabulous shops and pubs. We were there for Christmas and New Year so had a long stay of 16 nights, can’t fault the site. Wardens were very friendly and even though site was busy they were on top of everything including extra bin runs on Christmas Day.

Xmas Holiday Period Break

We were patient and lucky enough to get a full week reserved at Rowantree Site over the Xmas period at the last minute, and as we travelled from Aberdeenshire Scotland to say we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The weather even at this time of the year was favourable for all caravaners. This site is well looked after, kept clean, with pleasant wardens. The location suited us down to a tee, city centre browsing, walks and cycling to your heart content. Venturing further afield, you have the Designer Outlet Store, Retail Parks and plentiful shops within the centre itself. Even walked the York Wall. It’s a pity we had to go home again.

Excellent Site for visiting the center of York

We stayed at the site for 3 nights and found it to be in a brilliant location to get to the center of York and visiting the city. The site was very clean and tidy throughout.Although the site is in the center of York it was quite despite the building work next door. It was well sign posted and easy to find. Would recommend this site for people visiting York.

Rowntree in the rail.

Just had a couple of nights at Rowntree (our second visit in two months) and even the dreadfully wet Yorkshire weather on our arrival and throughout the first afternoon & evening didn't spoil a very welcome break. Nice clean site within easy access of the city (even with the wife's wheelchair) and local shopping facilities. Ideal for anyone with a motorhome as you can park it up and walk everywhere. Well recommended - although I shouldn't say that as we want to come back and booking in here is always difficult because of demand.

Rollerteam 2

This is one of our favourite sites on the network. We visit it on a regular basis. We continue to appreciate the excellent attention to detail and the kindness of the wardens.

Impeccable

We have stayed here many times. It’s a city site in a first class location with so much to see and do in the area. The site is immaculate, it’s a credit to Phil and Janet the wardens. It’s not an easy site to run, it’s extremely busy and with constraints on access due to narrow streets with parked cars. the current wardens run the “pitch and pay later policy” at busy tines, it’s to be hoped that will continue when new wardens take over. It should be considered a great example of a well run and beautifully maintained club site. It will be sad to see Phil and Janet go to Hargill House, next season, but whoever follows is taking on a site in first class, tip top condition.

Great site, but why isn't departure 12.00

Managed to get a late booking for a couple of days during half term. A bit of noise from the hotel construction which will overlook the site as the highest part is 5 floors 11.00 departure time is irritating. Should be 12.00 departure with arrivals from 13.00 like other caravan club sites with restricted access

First visit to Rowntree Park

One of the best Club sites we've visited, and one we're sure to visit again. The site itself was clean & tidy with good facilities and friendly staff (and other members). Good disabled facilities too. Literally a ten to fifteen minute walk into York centre and its wonderful tourist bits and excellent shopping, but also a busy shopping street with cafes and take-a-ways a leisurely five minutes away. The Barbican centre (snooker, bands and other entertainment) about ten minutes on foot. National Railway Museum perhaps twenty minutes walk, whilst Rowntree Park itself is on the doorstep. Brilliant river bank walks, and lovely autumnal colours on our visit. First class!

Reoccuring theme in the reviews

This is one of my favourite sites ,however be warned, make sure you are 6 metres away from the next unit. I parked up,by the peg as per caravan club policy, put the kettle on,to then watch the warden appear with a measureing wheel. I was 30 inches (0.8m) too close to the other unit.I moved to find i was covering the peg by 12 inches! To my amusement, on the corners near to the side gate there were caravans less than 5 feet apart. Lovely site, great position.(Do not forget to take your tape measure)

FANTASTIC AS USUAL

We visited the site midweek because as usual it's practically impossible to get a longer stay.......and no wonder if was fully booked. Great location within 1 mile from the town centre,3/4 mile from the racecourse and lots of other things to do.. Staff are always fantastic. (we will miss a couple of them when they leave to go to Richmond Argill house this week) and the site is a credit to the club We have been here 4/5 times a year since we joined the club and will continue to do so.........ALTHOUGH!!!! Something has to be addressed regarding the booking of pitches with awning space...(white pegs) We were only offered space without awning space (blue pegs) because they were all full........but on the first day I checked the white pegs and found to my surprise that out of 53 only 4 had put an awning up...........The club needs to rectify this situation someway.....
