One of the best

We have visited this site regularly over the years and never been disappointed. Access is easy except possibly weekend mornings when queues of traffic heading for Scarborough can block the A64 road from the A1 but not a problem if you approach from the North. The site is a large pleasant flat one with a wide variety of pitches to suit most people and plenty of space for children. There is good shopping, cheap fuel and a Park and Ride service just down the road. The A64 can be heard but is not a problem for us. Well worth visiting and if you are touring the area rather than just going into York far easier than Rowntree to get about and to us far nicer.

Just right for York

Great little site. Nice and flat. Facilities excellent. Don't follow the sat nav as you will end up a mile away.. The staff were very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. We had the relief staff from Rountree Park who were there because of the floods from earlier in the year. Easy to get into York and to Harrogate, Knaresborough, Pickering from here and there is a tremendous selection of shops for the ladies at Monks cross just down the road. We had an electrical problem when we got to site and the staff pointed me in the direction of Dave who is Mr caravan repair man. He did a great job at a very reasonable price so thanks Dave for helping us out. All in all we would certainly go back. Quiet during the week but busy at the weekend. Happy caravanning, PS the A 64 was not an issue for us as we pitched to the right of the toilet block.

Weekend at Beechwood Grange

Stayed at York, Beechwood Grange yet again. The staff on this site are really friendly and helpful, we arrived late, there was no issue with this at all. The site is very clean and tidy. The 'little shed' on site is full of local tourist information and the staff seem to have thought of everything and are catering for everyone's tastes. On our departure on Sunday, there was a notice saying that we could have stayed until 4.00, I thought that this was a really good thing to do and would enable people to have another full day appreciating the site and its surroundings.

Great stay

We have stayed on this site before and this time it seemed even cleaner. The wardens are very pleasent and helpful, it absolutely poured with rain and some pitches were slightly waterlogged.  Very well positioned site for Monks Cross and other shopping sites, also for York itself. We didn't  find  the road noise intrusive,  all in all very quiet , peaceful  site , lovely showers always hot. Will definitely be staying again this year.  Plus massive pitches and we'll tended site well wardens , regards Andy & Babs and Molly the dog woof woof

3 nights in york

We had 3 nights here at the start of the season just to air out the caravan etc.  The weather was not good but the site was very clean and friendly staff. Parts of the site were water logged and dog walk inaccessible due to this. Site well signposted off of A64.  Nice Toby pub over the road where we had a good meal. Lots of road noise from A64 and railway line.  We made the mistake of pitching on the back which made the road noise even more excessive. Facilities good, the only problem being it was very cold in the showers in the afternoon.  The mornings they were fine. All in all a nice site. Would stay here again but choose our pitch more carefully and probably leave it till better weather. Good site for visiting york and surrounding area.

A Week At York Beechwood Grange

First time at this site and I have mixed feelings about it.

Pros: Lovely helpful wardens who work hard to keep the site and facilities clean and looking good. Site was open in Feb when most others were closed. The site is well laid out with decent sized pitches (mainly hard-standing) and the hedges and trees add interest and reduce the car park effect. Great shopping centre and park and ride close to the site at Monks cross (best to drive). Good central location for day trips to York, Eden Camp, Air Museum, Pickering and Ampleforth Abbey etc.

Cons: limited opportunity to walk direct from the site and the sometimes intrusive noise from the A64 which runs alongside of the site. Would we use this site again? Probably, just need to remember the earplugs Wink

Quiet, spacious and clean

As first time caravanners, we were very impressed with this site.  We would definitely visit again and stay longer than one night, which we did to test out our caravan.  We had the help of our friends, who recommended this site, who helped us with the technical aspects of caravanning.  The site also offered to help us with this, which was good to know.  Very friendly, quiet location and very clean.

First Visit to Beechwood Grange

Arrived here yesterday; Journey was very straight forward, A19 then A1237. Entrance to site is very easy (unlike lots of others I've visited. Staff seem very friendly, site is big and mainly hard standing with a park, run-free dog walk area and a boules pitch. Toby Carvery just down the road on way to Monks Cross Shopping Centre which is about 1.5 miles away. Lots of places to eat there and lots of shops including an Asda and Sainsbury's. Park and Ride is also there in to work which has motor home parking or you can get a taxi from Site to York for £9 (up to 4 sharing). Lots of info on site about things to do, places to eat and they've even got taxi share register. Seems a lovely site,

Semi-rural site with hany Park & Ride into York city centre

Nice flat site with easy access off the York rig road. Park & Ride is only 1 mile away with frequent service into the city centre. Day trips to Whitby, Scarborough and Bridlington are possibilities.
