Great location

Excellent location close to retail park & park & ride to York. Easily accessible for Scarborough, Whitby, Leeds & Harrogate. We were there from Easter weekend for a week. Only criticism would be showers & toilet area in the woman's later in the day & early morning quite messy & not the cleanest. Would recommend the site for its location.

Good site in a good location

A clean site with good facilities. It's located about a mile away from an out of town shopping complex, which has a park-and-ride to take you into the centre of York. I'd recommend using the park-and-ride as parking in York is expensive. Buses run every ten minutes or so. Site is nice and quiet with some nice views over the fields.  Only small criticism I have is there is only 1 toilet block with 6 showers (in the mens). So when site is busy expect a possible shower queue.

Handy Location

We have used this site several times now. Facilties are good and the staff always very curtious and helpful. Perfect for visiting York and the Motorhome Show at Harrogate which we have for the past two years. York park & ride takes all the hassle out of trying to find a parking space. We shall continue to use this site in the future.

March Weekend

Nice pleasant friendly site, grounds well maintained and so were the pitches. Staff were helpful and friendly. Very handy for visiting York and all  the shopping centres and useful being only 10 minutes drive from a Caravan sales and accessories shop. One thing we did note is that the toilets appear to be 'tired' they could do with a bit of a refurb, found it disappointing that there were no grab handles of any sort in any of the showers in the main toilet facility only the one for lesser disabilities which is in a separate bit and the only time this was accessible was over the friday and saturday of the break we had and the hand drier never seemed to be warm air. All in all though a good site and we will be visiting again.

Handy for our first outing this season...

This was our first visit to Beechwood Grange, handy for our first outing this season as it's fairly close to home. Overall, this was a great site for us; our two dogs loved the dog exercise area, the facilities were clean, wardens friendly, and the location is excellent for site seeing in and around York, North Yorkshire Moors and even Yorkshire coast. The only reasons we've not given 10/10 are that you probably do need a car to get around, (although the site is down a fairly long drive, the entrance to the drive is on a busy junction close to the A64 which is notorious for congestion, and probably not best for pedestrians), the toilet block is a little 'tired' and could do with refreshing, and there are no super pitches, which would always be our preference if there was a choice. We have no small children so can't comment on child friendliness.

Perfect for York

We have stayed at this site a few times and always find it quiet and relaxing. We had a friendly welcome from reception. Plenty of pitches to choose from at this time of year also invited to stay till 4 pm if wanted. Facilities up to the usual clean standard if anything the showers are on the small size a bit of a squash! Plenty of shopping centres, John Lewis, large M & S and large Next if not wanting York but park and ride nearby if wanting to travel into York. Thompson award winning fish and chips restaurant ( take away as well) 5 mins drive away ...always a must for us when in York.

One of the best

We have visited this site regularly over the years and never been disappointed. Access is easy except possibly weekend mornings when queues of traffic heading for Scarborough can block the A64 road from the A1 but not a problem if you approach from the North. The site is a large pleasant flat one with a wide variety of pitches to suit most people and plenty of space for children. There is good shopping, cheap fuel and a Park and Ride service just down the road. The A64 can be heard but is not a problem for us. Well worth visiting and if you are touring the area rather than just going into York far easier than Rowntree to get about and to us far nicer.

Just right for York

Great little site. Nice and flat. Facilities excellent. Don't follow the sat nav as you will end up a mile away.. The staff were very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. We had the relief staff from Rountree Park who were there because of the floods from earlier in the year. Easy to get into York and to Harrogate, Knaresborough, Pickering from here and there is a tremendous selection of shops for the ladies at Monks cross just down the road. We had an electrical problem when we got to site and the staff pointed me in the direction of Dave who is Mr caravan repair man. He did a great job at a very reasonable price so thanks Dave for helping us out. All in all we would certainly go back. Quiet during the week but busy at the weekend. Happy caravanning, PS the A 64 was not an issue for us as we pitched to the right of the toilet block.

Weekend at Beechwood Grange

Stayed at York, Beechwood Grange yet again. The staff on this site are really friendly and helpful, we arrived late, there was no issue with this at all. The site is very clean and tidy. The 'little shed' on site is full of local tourist information and the staff seem to have thought of everything and are catering for everyone's tastes. On our departure on Sunday, there was a notice saying that we could have stayed until 4.00, I thought that this was a really good thing to do and would enable people to have another full day appreciating the site and its surroundings.

Great stay

We have stayed on this site before and this time it seemed even cleaner. The wardens are very pleasent and helpful, it absolutely poured with rain and some pitches were slightly waterlogged.  Very well positioned site for Monks Cross and other shopping sites, also for York itself. We didn't  find  the road noise intrusive,  all in all very quiet , peaceful  site , lovely showers always hot. Will definitely be staying again this year.  Plus massive pitches and we'll tended site well wardens , regards Andy & Babs and Molly the dog woof woof
