Very Good

First time at this site usually stay at Rowntree Park but was pleasantly surprised the Wardens are extremely pleasant and very helpful. The site is very clean.  Bus stop about half an hours walk for York which isn't too bad and they run every half an hour.  Will be back

3 night visit

We used this site for the first time in April (apologies in delay of review!) and at the time the weather was not too clever. No matter what, we found the site to be eaily accessible however the pot holes on the approach road needed a bit of careful navigation.A warm welcome was given by the staff who were clear on what was available to site users. The site is well maintained with excellent clean shower / toilet facilities. Although on this occasion we did not have our grandchildren with us we could see that the play park would be very useful to keep them safely entertained when we return in the future. If there was a downside to staying on this site it was the vehicular noise from the nearby A64, but to be fair, although it was noticeable it didnt bother us.

Enjoyable site but poor location for walkers

We stayed for 5 nights , the  site is well kept and the wardens were very friendly and helpful . the showers and toilets were clean but are ready for an update. As we had a dog we were unable to walk him without having a car journey to find any dog walking areas , the wardens were helpful advising us where to go but we ended up having long drives just to find dog walking areas ,apart from the nearby village where you could walk by the riverside there was no nearby walks .We would'nt go back again finding  Yorks Rowntree site better for access to York without driving and better for dog walks , but if you do not mind driving everywhere there are lots of interesting places to see .

York, at last

This is a lovely, clean, friendly, flat site, with plenty of space between pitches and good hard standing. Easy access from major roads, quick access back to main routes and away. Did particularly appreciate some of the best wardens we've ever met. Must be the best or amongst the best in the Caravan Club altogether. The site is exactly 2 miles from Monks Cross Park and Ride. Not a good walk- no pathway, noisy, smelly from the traffic. Dangerous walk for families / disabled in particular.  If only going for a wkend, the Sunday bus service into York is very poor.  Would only come again during the week as we need the public transport.

Best site for places of intrerest

We love it the wardens are friendly and always willing to help with anything. The site is always clean and tidy. Just a short drive are so many places to visit. We went to the Eden camp which is well worth a visit going back soon.

Great site

We stayed here for 2 mid week nights and found the site very easy to get to. The site was immaculately  kept and the site wardens were very friendly. The only thing I could find, if being very picky, is that there is a little road noise from the A64 but nothing that would stop us visiting again.  In fact we booked to go back 4 weeks later. The site is within easy access of York city centre and surrounding areas.  We would definitely recommend this site.

Very good site located near York

This is the second time we have stayed on this site. The location is handy for trips into York and is only about a mile from the Monks Cross park and ride. The wardens were excellent and one repaired my jockey wheel which had been damaged while manoeuvring the van onto the pitch. Facilities are very good and spotlessly clean.

Nice Stay

Spent 3 enjoyable days on Pitch 52, made even better by warm sunshine. Site is very well placed for York Park and ride at Monks Cross, and a Toby Carvery is within walking distance for most people. The day we departed could have spoilt all this, when some impatient idiot passed our outfit (missing our towing mirrors by 6"), whilst we were between our car and caravan in the process of hitching up, even though there was an alternative route off site!
