Best site for places of intrerest

We love it the wardens are friendly and always willing to help with anything. The site is always clean and tidy. Just a short drive are so many places to visit. We went to the Eden camp which is well worth a visit going back soon.

Great site

We stayed here for 2 mid week nights and found the site very easy to get to. The site was immaculately  kept and the site wardens were very friendly. The only thing I could find, if being very picky, is that there is a little road noise from the A64 but nothing that would stop us visiting again.  In fact we booked to go back 4 weeks later. The site is within easy access of York city centre and surrounding areas.  We would definitely recommend this site.

Very good site located near York

This is the second time we have stayed on this site. The location is handy for trips into York and is only about a mile from the Monks Cross park and ride. The wardens were excellent and one repaired my jockey wheel which had been damaged while manoeuvring the van onto the pitch. Facilities are very good and spotlessly clean.

Nice Stay

Spent 3 enjoyable days on Pitch 52, made even better by warm sunshine. Site is very well placed for York Park and ride at Monks Cross, and a Toby Carvery is within walking distance for most people. The day we departed could have spoilt all this, when some impatient idiot passed our outfit (missing our towing mirrors by 6"), whilst we were between our car and caravan in the process of hitching up, even though there was an alternative route off site!

Excellent site

As newcomers to caravaning we found the wardens extremely helpful, and vert friendly . Facilities were superb, grounds well maintained . Location to park and ride for York handy . Only would be signing too the site....when coming from Scarborough road you cannot see the site sign off the roundabout, resulting in us getting lost in the back lanes

"The pub with no beer ..sorry the site with no gas"

We have stayed on this site virtually every year since the site opened. It is an excellent well kept site ideally located to York. In our opinion better than the site in the city centre. We ran out of gas on the Sunday and so had the site which required us travelling five miles to obtain a new gas cylinder, very remiss we thought of the wardens Our main  concerns were the CRATERS yes CRATERS!  on the driveway when approaching the site. These holes require some very urgent attention before members sustain vehicle or caravan damage. Even with the greatest of care one found it almost impossible to avoid dropping into theses holes. I am sure if any member damages their outfit the Caravan Club will find the said member making a claim against the club

Nice site, lovely cheerful wardens

This is a very convenient site for both its ease of access from the main routes and its closeness to the excellent Park and Ride at Monks Cross. We also highly commend the lovely wardens. We had an electrical problem with our caravan. The warden came over and did his best to diagnose the problem. Unable to do so, he rang a local mobile caravan repair man and persuaded him to attend on a Sunday afternoon. The van was soon fixed and we were duly grateful. Thank you.

Very helpful wardens

Having arrived at another (non caravan club) site to find the pitch we were allocated was a mud bath we were about to return home when I realised that we would be passing this site. I phoned to see if there was a free pitch, despite the fact that the site was very busy the wardens managed to find a pitch for us for 2 nights and when we arrived at 7.50 pm the wardens came out to help us get the caravan onto the pitch. I couldn't have asked for a better reception. What would have been a very disappointing weekend at home turned into a very relaxing stay at an immaculate site. I've never reviewed a site before but felt that the help given couldn't go unmentioned. Thank you very much Pat and Trevor.

Good situated site

We have stayed on this site 4 times now and I like it for its friendliness. The toilet block and showers are always spotless. The wardens are always very friendly and are happy to help whenever needed. The site is always kept tidy.  Will definitely vist again it's very handy for Monks Cross and the Vanguard centre. Also the park and ride into York is handy.

Nice Site

We have used this site 3 times and always found the standard to be very high. The staff are welcoming but helpful if needed. The whole site is very well maintained and clean. Would highly recommend 5* Sharon & Stephen Harris.
