One of the best on the circuit. It lacks a direction sign from the main road, thankfully we had been before and knew how to get there. Some people we met had struggled though. Its down to York Council aparently as they made the site take the sign down! Anyway well run, clean site which is always a pleasure to visit
Excellent site, close to York and good shopping areas, Park and Ride close by. Staff and facilities were excellent. We will definitely stay there again.
Our recent return visit 16/5 to 26/5 2016 confirmed our opinions.
Good easy access, handy for shops, eateries, public transport and "tourist" attractions.
Two minor drawbacks: Lack of club site sign close to roundabout; Intermittent wi-fi service. Neither of these are within the club's control.
this was our first time on a caravan club site and beechwood grange ticked all the boxes.the wardens were hard working very helpful and always willing to assist..the site and facilities are kept in excellent condition and is in a perfect location .for sightseeing we are already looking forward to our next stay les & ruth.
Amazing site, great setting,so peaceful .On arrival lovely welcome from the wardens ,was amazed at the location far better than I expected why go to rowntree park when you can stay at this gem. Just a short walk to the Toby Carvery(bus stop outside) for York,( motorhomers) so this was great, overall fantastic site will be staying here again ,thank you to all the wardens for a great 4day away from it all ,ps extra bonus of the horses and foals in the fields
We have been on this site a few times now and every time have had a lovely relaxing stay. If you have dogs then the little field that is provided is one of the best we have come across so far.
You will need a car to get anywhere unless you enjoy walking a lot.
Overall a lovely site that we will go to frequently
Just spent a lovely 3 nights on this very pleasant site. We had our bikes with us - easy ride to Monks Cross; nice ride into York City centre (York roads are very cycle friendly) or plenty of Yorkshire scenery and villages to visit (Stamford Bridge, Sutton-upon-Derwent). Recommend the Fox Inn in Stockton-in-the-Forest.Site is a bit remote without transport; nearest bus into York is very infrequent and the frequent buses are some distance away.
spent a weekend on this site although the weather was not very good it didn't keep us in plenty to do and see in york excellent park and ride wardens very pleasant what more could you ask for
Spent a weekend here and couldn't fault it. Great access to York via the park and ride at Monks Cross....and enough out of town shopping to put you in jeopardy with your MTPLM. Didn't try any local eateries but there are a number to chose from. We'll definitely be back again.
Stayed here for a long weekend with our two grandchildren, aged six and four, and we all loved it. Wardens were superb, shower facilities excellent and easy access to the park and ride. Only down side was we all ate a meal at the local Toby Carvery and all of us were ill afterwards, so I would avoid this place.
