Stayed here for 3 nights in March.
Lovely site, great facilities and very pleasant and helpful staff.
The only noise was from the rookery in the surrounding trees. We watched them noisily building their nests.
Visited Castle Howard and some lovely surrounding villages. Also used the park & ride into York from Monks Cross - which is a bit too far away for us to walk to.
Thank you for a restful break.
Had a lovely second stay on this site .the first time was in a motorhome and we now have a caravan . The staff are really friendly and the location is great ...the facilities are clean and plenty of hot water etc... I would also recommend the nearby Toby carvery and Malton is only 20 mins away
This was our second visit to this site having previously visited May 2016.
The site is still good and well situated, but was slightly disappointed about two things.
The washroom is becoming tired, especially the showers, probably time for a refurbishment.
Site looked completely different from our first visit due to most of the trees having been chopped down and thus lost most of its appeal (now more like a field)
However we would still probably revisit in the future.
Our 1st time at BEECHWOOD and will not be our last by any means.
In Motorhome, 3 people, 2 adults, 1 14 yr old, all enjoyed our stay the same.
Everything about the site pleased us in every way i.e. location, just right for trip into York, facilities, up to the usual expected standard, staff as always really good. Looking forward to our next outing here with excited anticipation.
Wardens was very good on this site made you feel very welcome from the start .
The site it's self was very clean along with the shower block .
Good size dog walk my only fault like all dog walks fine in the daytime but on a night pitch black .
Why don't the caravan club put solar lights around all dog walks little cost as there run by daylight would make a massive difference for all dog owners plus you then don't have to leave site last off and get into trouble
This was a good site and well kept. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We can't comment on the toilets/showers as we used our own. My ONLY criticism is that our pitch was towards the end of a straight run through the site and this meant the usual idiots using it as a speed run/challenge to the corner (even with a caravan in tow!) at an estimated 15-20mph. This is not the wardens fault, but certainly is not helped by the design of the road/site. This kind of behavior seems to be growing and can spoil quiet and beautiful sites the club has to offer. Please consider using 1st gear only and no throttle (try it and you will see your speedo not exceeding 5mph....the 5mph site speed limit is there to ensure safety and enjoyment for those not in a vehicle). Why hurry? You're on holiday!
Great location on the roundabout giving access to all the main transport routes, although well protected from traffic. Friendly staff who keep the site very well maintained, clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend and will use it next time we visit the area.
We have just returned from Beechwood Grange caravan park from a long weekend break. This was our first ever touring holiday in our brand new van! We arrived on a very cold, snowy and wet Friday night and found both wardens on hand very friendly and helpfull. Once we eventualy got pithched up, we got cosied down for the night.
The site is in a perfect location and only a short 5 minute car journey to the nearby park and ride. We have 4 yr old little boy and although the weather was particularly bad we found plenty to do in and around York.
The site is very well maintained and the facilities were spotless (cleaned everyday) bins were also emptied daily and the waste points ceaned regularly.
All in all a very nice site we will definatley be back! a credit to the wardens!
This site meets the usual high standards expected at Club sites. Although we arrived late on a cold, dark evening, the warden noticed us arriving and came out to open the office so that we didn't have to wait in the cold. We cycle everywhere while staying at sites and this site was a ten minute ride from Monks Gate shopping mall and a half hour ride on marked cycle routes to the city centre. Perfect.
A beautiful site of peace and quiet although we were there in January the site is well kept and very friendly. There is a great secure dog walk and a lovely children's play area the toilet and showers are old but imacuatley clean and plenty of hot water, good wifi and smashing tv reception. This was our very first time in our own caravan and it was a lovely start to our new adventure everybody on site could not of being more helpful or friendly.
