FANTASTIC SITE & LOCATION

Such a lovely site which we visit regularly as and when we can . The site and location is superb . It’s next to a flying school so you see helicopters & planes taking off & landing - we love it ✈️ plus you do get to see Heathrow planes ✈️ We were very pleased to meet the new Wardens Katie & Ash , such a lovely couple very welcoming , warm , friendly and very helpful. Thank you both 😊 So much to see & visit front the site with very good walking opportunities. We love it here and it’s always nice to meet some likeminded friendly motorhomers & caravaners . May this club site cherish for ever ❤️ BOB & JO

Wyatts Covert. Enjoyed our few days while in the area to meet up with local friends.

Received a great welcome from the wardens at Wyatts Covert. The site is clean and tidy and conveniently located for train travel to London. Facilities were clean but not all WCs in the ladies were in use. There was a service point with no fresh water - apparently waiting for a plumber to fix these issues. The site was fairly noisy from the nearby airfield and there was a heavy smell of aviation fuel on occasions. We enjoyed visits to The Crew Room for light refreshments at Dunham Airfield and The Swan in Denham was good. The nearby woods were handy for dog walking. The site did seem to have workers staying. There were single occupancy units with people driving offsite early and returning early evening Were they working on HS2 or possibly the film studios nearby? This did not both us but did seem a little unusual on a club site.

Wyatts Covert

First of all the site, small only about 50 pitches, but many arrivals and departures over the two days there.I arrived with no issues, just followed instructions on the Club web site, but a couple of caravanners decided on finding there own way there and either arrived via the narrow Tilehouse lane ,or having to reverse because of road closures. Now the elephant in the room, the some of the helicopter noise,is apparently are for pilot training, which hovers for at least 10 minutes at a time, then practising landing and taking off,the normal helicopters and small planes are not too bad. There is a lovely walk next door to the site, also the cafe on the airport is entertaining with the helicopters practising. This is the nominated Club Site for the Smart electricity programme. Downloading the Smartmetering form and crediting your account, does make it stress free, however I found the site reduction fee did not cover the amount of electricity used.

This site is o.k. if you like the sound of helicopters all day.

Visited for the fourth time over the last 15 years or so, but noticed a pronounced increase in aircraft noise levels this time. Very importantly members must be discouraged from approaching the site from either end of Tilehouse Lane and only use Denham Green Lane both solo and on tow. We followed a motorcaravan the size of a dustcart along Tilehouse Lane from the south. We were solo but the motorcaravan scraped a local young ladies car and blocked the lane for everyone for about 15 minutes. When we asked the driver why he had not followed the sites guide directions ,he said he was following the sat nav. This kind of behaviour will quickly antagonise local residents. The Wardens, Katie and Ash were lovely and helpful and worked very late when a motorcaravan arrived leaking diesel everywhere!!! The site access even up Denham Green Lane is quite uneven and difficult with parked residents cars. During our stay, one out of three Male w.cs was out of use as well as the hand drier, and two out of four female w.cs likewise. Also one drinking water tap was out of use. One aspect of club sites we had not noticed before, was the loud noise that motorcaravan and camper sliding doors make upon closing. This is not a problem in the day, but much more so at all hours in the middle of the night. We found the metering system worked well despite our misgivings prior to arrival This site is close to both rail and tube access to London. The aircraft noise will probably preclude our return to this site.

Great time at Wyatts Covert

Fantastically placed for many of the places and attractions around d London. We have used this site twice in the last 3 months and both times we have had a good stay in this very well kept site. It is next to Denham airfield and, as the weather was good there was lots of activity - not something that I minded. Unusually there were a few departures in the early hours which we were disturbed by. Great walks through the nearby woods were enjoyed by us and our dogs. Definitely going to visit again as it is a lovely place with friendly, welcoming and very helpful staff. Shops and petrol station are quite close by. So much to like.

Let down by general unkempt scruffy appearance thanks to extension of No Mo May

I have used this site on several occasions at all times of the year and generally have found it excellent .. good clean facilities, handy location for London and M25, great staff etc. We have a dog and find the access to woods, bridleways and recently the large field and grounds of the Denham Grange Hotel very convenient and useful. It is generally a quiet site during the day ( quite a few units belong to people working away from home eg HS2 engineers and the like and tourists visiting London ). It is next to Denham Aerodrome and is overflown by helicopters and light aircraft at all times with associated noise and smells. We can ignore this ( though it is annoying at 5.30 am ) for the other conveniences... some people easily frustrated by such disturbances won't like it ! What has disappointed on our most recent visit is the general unkempt appearance of overgrown grass everywhere including the fingers between quite a few of the pitches. You could not sit or use the grassy areas either side or behind our pitch. I know the excuse from the Wardens and no doubt backed up by the Club will be 'it's Green Tourism' and supportive of the ' No Mow May' campaign, But come on .. it's nearly July ! There is one patch of grass that has been planted out well with wild flowers which provides an excellent display. The other uncut grassy areas are full of weeds and just look scruffy. I tried the electricity metering trial .. didn't like it ... a complete faff. I would have liked to given feedback but haven't been asked yet. Ending on a positive - the new site wide free WiFi service ( by BT ) is excellent and a great positive improvement.

Excellent site for visiting London

We stayed at Wyatts Covert after Christmas for a week for the New Year celebrations. Although it wasn’t an issue for us, I believe other May be bothered by the noise of the airfield next door. The wardens are great, friendly, approachable and always smiling. Maybe not so family friendly as it is a very small site with no park but excellent site for access to London with a bus that stops outside reception and takes you to the station and onto Uxbridge. Access to some footpaths are impinged with the HS2 works going on but really is an engineering feat of excellence. Highly recommend the Battle of Britain Bunker Tour and it is very reasonable as a half day out. We also ventured into Watford and played indoor Pub crazy golf at the Puttshack which I can highly recommend of a rainy afternoon or evening. All in all a lovely stay and we would definitely return

Excellent site with good facilities and easy access to Uxbridge and London

Very good site, they are a few buses each day to Denham station and Uxbridge which run from the site but no buses from early afternoon. It is a 30 minute walk to Denham station. If you turn left when you have passed the aerodrome there is pavement all the way to the station with regular trains to Marleybone station.

Absolutely great wardens

Katie and Ash have been the best wardens I’ve met. I have disability’s which make visits to sites daunting sometimes as I do have some barriers in my every day life. Katie took time to explain to me where all was and has always been there to provide a smile. My carer comes and looks after me as I cannot afford to bring them for my whole stay so they have to come in the day and leave after preparing my meal and help getting me ready for bed time. This is my only negative about the club itself. Somebody who is disabled with a full Time carer has to pay for two adults at the same rate as a non disabled person. This is a huge barrier for disabled people and with my experiences of discrimination through out my work life I know about direct and indirect discrimination pretty well and this is direct discrimination. Treating everyone the same is discrimination as not all people are the same. This I have addressed with the club as I won’t be returning and will cancel my membership if changes are no made. How can a club of this size not have anything to accommodate disabled people being able to have carer be there at a reduced cost or free like other organisations do, 1 full paying adult and a carer comes free. It appears it’s just money making from head office and who ever makes up the policy’s. I do look forward to hearing from the director about my concerns raised. It’s not pleasant having soiled yourself and then having lay there all night in the soiled bedding and clothes as I could not get to the showers, laundry until my carer attended the next day. Not good C&MC
