Back again

Back again here, third time in 12 months so it must be good. We use this site as a base for reaching RHS Wisley and various NT sites within easy distance. Can't say we've ever noticed any noise yet from HS2 works, nor any evidence of contractors leaving early hours. There is, however, a residential site adjacent, maybe some reports of early departures are relating to this. Yes the airfield is next next door and can be fun, but at least it isn't a 24 hour operation. The wardens are great by the way and coped with our late notice direct phone booking and later rescheduling most helpfully. We'll be back, no doubt at all. This is a really, really useful site.

Contractor Nightmare

I love this site normally but at the moment its bordering on un-useable for anybody other than workers. Because the barriers don't lock between 10 and 7am like a lot of sites you have workers starting their vans from 5:30 in the morning making it impossible to sleep past that time, one after another you get alarms beeping, doors slamming then engines running for anything upto 10 min to get rid of frost. Such a simple change of disabling the barrier till 7am could make this little site sooooooo much better all the workers have to do is leave their vans and cars in the carpark and walk but no lets wake everybody up........

Exceptional service

After arriving on the M25 at 430pm on the way to another campsite in London and then realising the low emission zone had changed that day I phone Wyatts covert in a panic for a pitch for the night for the family . The wardens were so helpful and put me at ease as I was unsure what we going to do they found us pitch for the night . And thankfully for the rest of the week so we could enjoy the time without having to move about . Not sure why I bothered to try staying elsewhere as we had been before and found the site perfect for visiting central London with lots of options of public transport from near the site . Denham station for National rail services into Marylebone and nearby Uxbridge by bus at the bottom of the lane for the metropolitan and Piccadilly lines in to central London . The site is very well kept , facilities always spotless and very welcoming and accommodating wardens who are a credit to the Caravan and motorhome club . Thank you again for a wonderful stay . We will be back .

Great location, very neat and tidy

Wyatts Covert is in a great location for exploring London. Good transport links into central London. Very easy to find from the M25. Facilities absolutely spotless. The whole site is very well maintained. Some noise from the airfield down the road during the day, but not too bad really. Could still hear and see the local parakeets, which was a joy! Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely use this site again if we were in the area.

A hidden gem

This is a great little site. Yes there is some noise from the local private airfield and occasionally from HS2. But it is a peaceful site. The wardens are helpful and friendly. The location for the train to London is ideal. Denham station has trains direct to Marylebone which take around 20 minutes. It is also good for visiting Windsor, Henley on Thames and Cliveden.

Excellent site & wardens

If all club sites are as well looked after and as friendly as this one we are going to enjoy our membership. We had a hard standing pitch without awning , site was spotless as were the facilities. Wardens are lovely, friendly and extremely helpful . The great thing about this site was the great walks on your doorstep and the aerodrome which I loved, you can also visit the aerodrome cafe and watch the planes . There is some noise from the planes/helicopters but you soon get used to them and they are enjoyable to watch . Site is very quite and relaxing .

A different assessment of the new site wardens

I just read a recent, very critical, review of the new site wardens at this site. I stayed at Wyatt's at roughly the same time as the critical reviewer and my experience of the new wardens was the total antithesis of critical reviewer's.. The new wardens were extremely pleasant and welcoming, could not have been more helpful and the site was immaculately maintained under their stewardship.

😀

This is a well run site. Excellent wardens. There is an airfield next door for light aircraft so be prepared for flights taking off and landing.

Very good but beware

On site for five nights early September This is a small very well kept site with a modern spotless toilet block - a credit to the wardens. If there are “workers” using the site we are not aware. We can hear no noise from HS2 works currently and traffic disruption locally is minimal. (I fear this will get worse when the HS2 viaduct gets under full construction - chilternsociety has a photo blog) Aircraft take off or land overhead (depends on wind direction) but only during the day. A check on google maps makes it clear this is a busy little airfield so no surprise there. Train access to London is brilliant. Plenty of parking at Denham station though it’s height restricted. Bus 453 from Great Central Street opposite Marylebone station takes you to Trafalgar Square and London buses accept national OAP bus passes - just show it to the driver. My top recommendation- book free tickets to the top of the sky garden skyscraper, it’s awesome. Overall we are having a great time.
