😀

This is a well run site. Excellent wardens. There is an airfield next door for light aircraft so be prepared for flights taking off and landing.

Very good but beware

On site for five nights early September This is a small very well kept site with a modern spotless toilet block - a credit to the wardens. If there are “workers” using the site we are not aware. We can hear no noise from HS2 works currently and traffic disruption locally is minimal. (I fear this will get worse when the HS2 viaduct gets under full construction - chilternsociety has a photo blog) Aircraft take off or land overhead (depends on wind direction) but only during the day. A check on google maps makes it clear this is a busy little airfield so no surprise there. Train access to London is brilliant. Plenty of parking at Denham station though it’s height restricted. Bus 453 from Great Central Street opposite Marylebone station takes you to Trafalgar Square and London buses accept national OAP bus passes - just show it to the driver. My top recommendation- book free tickets to the top of the sky garden skyscraper, it’s awesome. Overall we are having a great time.

Appalling patronising and obstructive wardens

So the site itself is good. Nice level pitches and a good shower block. Good location. It is seriously let down by the incredibly patronising, condescending, unhelpful and argumentative wardens. I had stayed here before for work nearby and had never had an issue. Always a warm friendly welcome but the new wardens have a very different approach. I couldn't believe the obnoxious manner in which I (and my colleague who was also staying separately) was spoken to by the wardens here. We had an issue with being able to check in before 8pm due to work commitments. We attempted to offer other solutions to enable payment etc. but each one was met with a stonewall "NO". Their attitude disgusting. I would say they spoke to us as if we were naughty children but that doesn't sufficiently describe how beyond patronising they were. We sucked up the attitude at the time as we had no other option and even though we were as amenable, apologetic and helpful as possible they insisted on repeatedly initiating an argument and a telling off. I'm sure they feel very proud of themselves and their little dictatorship. Good facilities and location but I will not stay here again with the current wardens. Shameful.

Weekend Trip

We enjoyed a long weekend at Wyatt Covert. It’s a great location to explore the Colne Valley country park and the canal. There are also some very good pubs within reasonable walking distance. There is noise from the airfield and from the adjacent park home site but is not overtly intrusive. If you plan to walk from the site closures due to HS2 to adjacent paths are having an impact but diversion routes are in place. Overall it was good to try an area that we only normally pass through on the M25!

London week

The access roads to the site are good, but narrow towards the site itself. The noise from the small airfield from helicopters and light aircraft was the only downside to staying here, no sleeping in! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the grounds kept immaculately and the facilities were great. The location close to tube stations was our reason for choosing this site as one of us had work to do and the other the dogs to look after. Great dog walking close to site and some very pleasant garden and sites nearby. Would definitely stay again here despite the noise.

Exceptionally Noisy

Currently staying on this site. Booked due to the location and easy access into London. Unfortunately the site is very noisy due to the close proximity to the airfield which is also a training site - first aircraft went up at 6.55 am this morning. Can also hear the noise from the HS2 works which starts at 8.00 am. Also the site allows commercial vehicles and overnight stays for local workers. These vehicles started to leave the site at 5.55 this morning. We were hoping to stagger our days out in London with days at the van to re energise but it’s impossible to stay on the site during the day due to the level of noise. Ideal site as a short term stop over only.

Really useful site for local visits.

Stayed here twice recently, in April and early July. Really nice friendly little site, all the usual CAMC facilities and standards. The site is next door to a private residential one, take care to locate the correct entrance. Currently the access road (Tilehouse Lane) is closed some distance beyond the entrance because of HS2 construction, so be sure to follow access directions given on the booking confirmation. We heard no noise disturbance from the works, (or for that matter from the M25 or M40), but be aware that Denham airfield is very close, and this does make its existence known during the daytime. It's a really useful site for exploring the area though, and we'll certainly use again.

Good overnight stop

This was our last stop before going home. We were a bit horrified, when we arrived, to find the van absolutely covered with mud because of the HS2 works! But we were warmly welcomed, as ever. It was a bit noisy due to helicopters and even a plane at the nearby airfield, but nothing to disturb our sleep. Did not use the sanitary facilities, as they were quite a long way from our pitch (I do wish more sites had more than one sanitary block), but assume they were as clean and well-maintained as always. We weren't quite sure where we could empty our grey water (on the last day of the holidays we wanted to go with everything empty), but found the place in the end.

Great location, lovely site

As expected there are the usual high standards in place for CAMC Site - well kept with friendly wardens. We were aware that there was some aircraft noise from nearby airfield, but it didn't bother us at all. Good COVID safe protocols in place. We stayed on advice from a Motorhome forum looking for places with good access to Wembley stadium. A 20 minute walk took us to Denham station (or a £6 taxi) and a few stops took us to Wembley. On the return, we got on a fast train and with Denham the first stop. A 15 mile cycle along country and canal paths led us to a lovely day out in Windsor. Will definitely come back

One night Stop over site to break up our journey

We stopped here to break up our journey. Very clean site with Friendly wardens. Some noise from nearby air Field but it stopped at the end of the afternoon Walk adjoining the site through woodland which we took advantage off. We would visit again
