New club memebers and first time on a club site

our first time out this year we booked this site for a short break for 2 nights, but with having such a good time we extended for an extra night, when we arrived it was lovely and sunny but the weather turned as we walked into West Kirby (only 30mins walk ) we got soaked walking back but this didnt dampen our spirts, the weather wasn't great for the rest of the stay but we still managed to go out for walks and cycle rides also visiting a few small villages, the site was great and the wardens were lovely and all the other caravaners were great to get on with, we had a fantastic night in the social club at the end of the road and it was very friendly atmosphere and we would recommend it to anyone staying on the site it has regular entertainment and an extremely cheap bar well worth the short walk if all the club sites are as good as this one we can see that we've joined a great club

First Trip of the Year

Picked this site for our first trip of the year with it not being too far away from home. Last minute descision and pleasantly surprised. Nice site with friendly helpful wardens. Excellent for dog walking as a short walk to the beach. But, even so a lot of dogs were just walked round the site! Pitches good and level, a few were a bit wet due to the extremely wet weather a few days prior to our arrival. Had issues with the wifi and power going off, out of anyone's control and wardens updated regularly as to what was happening re the issues being sorted. Quite a bit of road noise from the road down to the beach, even in the evenings, think will be worse in summer. Also in summer think with all the trees the site could be quite shady. Fish and chip van visited, good portions! Unfortunately some visitors left the men's toilets in a disgusting state, feel sorry for the wardens, not nice.

Start of the season

Third time on this site as it is close to family for visits. Wet ground in the winter so only hard standing open. Have stayed in the summer on a grass pitch which is still soft for a motorhome so would recommend early arrival to get a hard standing as this is always a very popular site. We travel with a tandem so quite handy to have the Wirral way on the doorstep.

Wet weekend

We visited for the weekend with our grand daughter. Wardens were very helpful. It was a very wet weekend, by the time we left the pitches, grass and roads were waterlogged. It didn't spoil our weekend. Lovely beach and cafe just a short walk away. The cottage loaf pub a 5 minute drive away had a good choice of meals including kids menu. We also visited Church Farm in the village. Will definitely return when the weathers a little better

Lovely surroundings , easy access and very helpfull staff, excellent facilities, hopefully next time we visit the grounds will have dried out and it will be sunny and we can take advantage of the surrounding walks.

A shame not an all year site

Firstly happy retirement to your wardens for the past 4 years. I always enjoy staying here and do so 3-4 times a year as it is close to home for a quick getaway. With the Winter westerly winds I can understand why the CC closes the site through the Winter months but some members like ourselves love the Winter weather and wish they would consider all year opening for the site. The Dee estuary is wonderful in all the seasons with its wildlife and there is plenty of walking and local activities. They cater for all ages with a good child protected play area. The Wirral way is steps away from the site and close to all amenities including only 20 minutes from Chester where there is good parking along the river for Motorhomes opposite the race course and minutes from its centre. I am sure the majority who visit this site enjoy their stay and I shall be back as always next year. It is not "top of the range" but it does not pretend to be so. The wardens are relaxed and always helpful. Not to be missed.

October Visit

Just got back from trip away in the motorhome. Lovely site, will definitely return. Just a shame its not a year round site as there's so much to do in the vicinity and just ideal for trips into Liverpool and Chester - 100% better than the Cheshire Oaks site where there are absolutely 0 walks from the site that are safe due to busy road with no pavement and no footpaths in the area. Here there are walks and safe cycle routes in every direction and especially all along the coast on the disused railway line. The views over the Dee estuary from the site are excellent. Such a peaceful site.
