Watch where you walk

A must if your into walks however watch where you walk due to dog owners letting there pets do the business all over the campsite. Awoke one morning found three dog poo bags on way to showers. The site is clean and maintained but feel staff could be more friendly. Plenty to do out n about

Spacious pitches and clean and tidy

First visit to this site and found it to be very clean and tidy and there are lots of things to do close by. Nice walks along beside the river and easy to get to the coast either by bus, train or car. Found the traffic noise quite intrusive but that probably depends on what you are used to (I live in an area where you could hear a pin drop) and is to be expected in such an industrial area. Lots of different birds to be seen along the river and in the nature reserves that are nearby. Asda is only a few minutes walk away and do a nice, cheap breakfast in their cafe.

Our favourite site!

Third visit to White water park, we were recommended it by friends. Probably wouldn't have bothered as the area is very industrial at first appearance. It is such a fabulous site in a fantastic location, 2 minute walk to the river where seals feed on salmon, cormorants dry their wings and an abundance of wildlife to see. Walk along the river to Stockton or towards Middlesborough. Fish and chips should be renamed as Whale and chips from The Almighty Cod in Seaton Carew, the best I've ever tasted. Redcar beach and Saltburn on sea well worth a visit too. The site was beautifully tended, wardens should be proud of their floral and lights display. Toilets were sparkling clean, no queues during our stay. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a fantastic stay. Jayne Stuart and David Ellam

Great base for exploring, well kept and maintained site

A three night mid-week break to visit the local attractions (Head of Steam in Darlington and Beamish Museum). Impeccably kept side with spotless facilities. Excellent Covid precuations whilst still keeping the toilet blocks open - carfeully explained when checking in. Reception helpful and welcoming. Some noise and care needed with children on bikes not sticking to the designated play areas. All in all a great stay - we'll be back again to continue or exploring of the area.

A Pleasant Surprise!

Booked this site for 4 nights quite last minute as just wanted a short stay en route to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Book in was very good. The wavy haired male warden (apologies for not knowing your name!) was very polite, explaining where to wait until it was our turn to book in & the long, dark haired lady who booked us in was also very polite. Extensive choice of pitch & pitches spacious. Whilst on site we spoke with the short haired female warden who was very helpful when we asked about walking along the river. The other male warden did tell our 10 year old Son off for cycling 'the wrong way' but our Son accepted it & for the rest of our stay, he scootered & cycled 'the right way'. As parents, we understand that kids have to follow 'rules' & the rules are there for everyone's safety. The site is meticulously maintained. The floral displays are some of the best we've seen at any club site & given that the sites have had no budget this year for plants, full credit to the wardens. Have never seen so many baby frogs/toads on site before! Our Son & the friends he made loved this! Only a 5 minute walk from the River Tees & you can sit & while away time watching the seals. There is a nature reserve a short walk away. There is a Beefeater pub/restaurant just outside the site. We ate there with the government eat out to help out scheme. Food is pretty average but service excellent. Supermarket & retail park a 5 min drive. This site is great; in a central location for exploring the area & we will definitely return.

Beautiful site spoiled by the current wardens

Just returned from a 9 night stay at this beautiful and impeccably clean caravan site in the current global pandemic feeling extremely disappointed and very let down by the sheer arrogance and rudeness of the current wardens. If you are looking for a family friendly caravan park then this is most definitely NOT the caravan park for you as the wardens DO NOT like children and you are under surveillance 24hrs a day by the CCTV cameras that they sit watching all the time and are right out at you complaining if your child steps 1 inch out of line. The male warden has a very choice form of language and would not approach a man would go streight to the woman. So moral of the story if your looking for a relaxing holiday where your not constantly being watched then do not go to this site.

Seal of Approval

Enjoyed a few nights here, our first time though we have seen it in the distance from the Tees flyover on the A19 many a time. The whole area was pleasant and belied its industrial past - but if you want that cycle to Hartlepool which was easy enough and you'll get to see it en route. Plus plenty of wildlife. Be sure to stop at the various nature reserves when the tide is out and when it's in, to see everything. The Barrage is well worth a visit and you'll see seals there too!

A peaceful Gem in an industrial enviroment

Had two nights at this site. So quiet at night and very well presented. A credit to the wardens, pitches excellent and an abundance of flowers and shrubs. Good walking from site up the teesdale way and seal watching round the barrage a must. Will definitely come again.

Fantastic but sad review

Writing a fantastic review but a sad review. We have been coming here for 9 years and have seen wardens come and go. Unfortunately 2 of the nicest people who we have had the pleasure of meeting and call friends (Harry and Heather) are sadly moving on to pastures new. Our stays here will not be the same as we will not be seeing your happy faces but wish you both the very best of luck and hope to see yous again soon. ☹️☹️☹️
