Whitewater in winter

A recent short stay at Whitewater began with a friendly check in. The site is immaculate and a credit to the hard working wardens. A short drive takes you to the beautiful coast, or local attractions whichever suits you. As itā€™s only 25 mins from our storage will definitely be back. Thank you

DOG FRIENDLY OR NOT ?

Been to this site numerous times and would consider it our favourite, until this visit

Whilst filling my motorhome with water on arrival I put our dog on a lead to stretch his legs, Only to be shouted at “hey “ looking round to see a warden wagging his finger at me and saying “come hear”

You can’t walk your dog on this site and it should be on a 2 mtr lead

if you want to walk it take it off site “ I was greeted with

As I say we have been to this site on numerous occasion and the wardens have alway been superb but the new wardens or should I say this one in particular has spoilt it for us ,

Our pitch was at the top of the site and my wife was nervous to take our dog out in case she bumped into this confrontational member of staff , I consider my self a responsible and considerate dog owner , but when our dog comes out of our Van on a lead he IS going to sniff and wee between the van and the exit . The caravan club is either dog friendly or it’s not , I do not expect to be made to feel uncomfortable whilst on a relaxing weekend away

DOGS ALLOWED

Not at all dog friendly, Been to this site 2-3 times every year since 2013. No problems with dogs But new wardens have took it upon themselves that you are not allowed to walk your dog around the site You can have your dog in your vehicle motorhome car / caravan But to exercise you must exit the site No stopping to sniff plant pots / posts ( oi - move along keep moving hurry up is what I was greeted with .) Think the pictures on the web site should be reviewed As one shows a dog in picnic area with children Another has a dog tied on a long lead Over 2 metres not allowed anymore Previous wardens had people skills New wardens are lacking people skills So we got a refund & moved to Durham Grange - oh what a difference30 miles made Friendly wardens & dog friendly

immaculate

Just stayed on this site for a week, it has to be one of the best kept sites on the network, no weeds on the pitches, toilet block immaculate, everything was perfect, the wardens were very friendly and obviously worked very hard to maintain the standard.

Top Performing Site

The people that run this site are a credit to the Club. During our stay it was the approach to Hallowe'en - this had prompted the staff to purchase and set out numerous ghouls and kid-orientated things around the site, complete with organising a family centred set of activities centred in the games room area - costume judging, and games! None of this was within their job descriptions but they do it because they know that their customers are there to enjoy themselves. The following of this site is testament to the effort and enthusiasm with which the staff perform their day jobs, as well as going well beyond them. Highly recommended for this, as well as the well kept facilities, location and generally well run feel of the place. We'll be back.

Fantastic

This is undoubtedly the best club site, we have stayed on in years. Lovely friendly welcome, Staff are excellent, helpful, polite and cheery. They went out of their way to decorate the site with Halloween theme, and provided a Childrens party. The site has beautiful floral decorations and is immaculately kept.

Use TS17 6QB on your sat nav

I don't need to sing the praises of this lovely site as if you read the reviews you will see, that for most, it is great. We were warmly welcomed by Chris on arrival and the wardens help, advice and assistance were much appreciated when it came to staying another night. I have to advise those who have not been to the site before that the post code given in the handbook, whilst no doubt correct, may take you onto Marston Road which is at the bottom of the site next to Asda's and that there is no way of getting onto the site from Marston Road apart from on foot as there is a very big locked gate stopping you. If you see a big Asda sign its a clue that your on the wrong road. My sat nav took me down that way and apparently I am not the first to fall foul. My advice to you is to use TS17 6QB which is the post code of the Talpore Beefeater which is right next door to the entrance of caravan site or to put Whitewater Way in as the address as this is the road name to get onto the site. I hope that this helps you to get to the caravan park safely.

Water very lovely site.

We arrived on the 13th Sept for seven nights. You can see what a lovely well kept immaculate site it is before you get through the barrier. As it as been said it takes you longer to drive to Asda than it does to walk there (Which isn't that far). Some nice walks along the river and plenty to see especially if they are canoeing in the white water course. If you are a Parkrunner there's a run close by so you don't have to miss your Saturday morning fixšŸ˜. The Beefeater pub which is close by is good value especially if you have a Taste card. Beamish Museum and the Royal Navy museum at Hartlepool are not too far away for a visit. And the fish and chip van that calls on a Friday evening is good value and very nice.

Breezy

We stayed here for the first time ever and it lived up to all expectations...........it was pristine with flowers and tubs of plants everywhere that were well tended and watered. Grass was kept in almost bowling green condition and the facilities as usual were clean, modern and well maintained. The hard standing pitches were level with no need for transverse levelling, always a bonus and the serviced pitches ( which we didnā€™t use) were each bounded by medium height hedging to give some shelter and privacy. On our visit the whole site was buffeted by strong wind and unfortunately we caught it ā€˜in the neckā€™ but that could have applied to any site. There is a Beefeater adjacent for easy dining and access to the riverside and white water park is close by and easy. We walked along the river to Stockton town centre, a very pleasant walk and there is a hood selection of shops both chain and small to cater for most needs. We went on market day and so had extra shopping treats. Food shopping is close to hand if walking but a 3.5 mile journey by car so have suggested that.a locked gated access be made available for members staying so that a 400 yard walk would see you in the supermarket.

SECOND VISIT TO EXCELLENT SITE

Visited this site for the second time. Excellent base due to having family in the area. On this occasion two members of family visited and slept in our awning. Check in is easy and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We were able to drive around a couple of times and pick a pitch that suited us and then we popped back to tell staff which pitch we were on and then got the vehicle pass and keys for toilet block. Having to take the keys to the toilet all the time is a bit of a pain but we fully understand why. We have visited a handful of Caravan and Motorhome sites and they are all of a high standard but I think this one by far is the best we have been to, to date. Its so well kept with lots of personal touches and immaculate. Its a great base to visit lots of great places and a walk along the river takes you into Stockton with all the local shops. The local pub is a brewers fayre and did discount for blue light card holders which was great but not very dog friendly considering next to a site where a lot of people have dogs with them. This is no fault of the site but being dog friendly these days a definite plus for local businesses. We will be going back and I have already worked out a good sunny pitch for next time so fingers crossed its free. Very well maintained clean site with lovely friendly staff. You will not be disappointed.
