Fabulous!

We visited the site for the first time this weekend. We only booked to visit friends so didn't really know what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised! The site itself is very easy to find, all the pitches looked level and the site was immaculate. The effort with landscaping and upkeep really are apparent. The facilities are absolutely outstanding; I have never seen toilets/showers so clean! The area is 30 seconds walk from the White Water rafting, and a 2 minute car ride to Morrisons and the large shopping area. We walked down the river side into Stockton to look around a car show. It's around a mile to the town centre. Looks like its had lots of investment recently. I'm told that another mile or so and you can reach Middlesborough. We also went to Preston Park, which is less than 10 minute drive. It has a Victorian Museum, large playground and massive grounds to explore. We took a ride on the river boat from the Rivershack at the park, which takes a 35-40 min trip to Yarm and back. It was a little cold but really good fun and bet its glorious on a sunny day. Dogs are also welcome on the boat. We will definitely be back to explore more of the area!

Unexpected Jewel

Excellent site. Beautifully maintained by very friendly wardens. Allowed me to switch my booking from Service Pitch to Standard Pitch, on arrival, after my administrative error! Thank you. Wi-fi ok. Fish and Chip van on a friday night is a welcome bonus when you've just arrived. Enjoyed the '8-Bridge' walk along the Tees. Used this to get into Middlesborough (could just as easily cycled it) after visiting the splendid Transporter Bridge (unfortunately shut because of high winds). Caught the very regular train to Saltburn-on-Sea - walked along the pier, the front, visited the micro-pub and had a lovely 'deli-lunch'. Very quaint place for a visit. Only £6 taxi for 4 of us back from the station to the site in the evening. Tees barrage and White Water facilities very close by (5 minute walk). Well worth a visit.

My Little piece of Heaven

Well once again i visited this site last week and as always its a pleasure to visit the wardens and the new wardens are just so helpful The toilet blocks and facilities are spotless and the atmosphere on this site is just fantastic im a lone female caravanner and i always feel safe and everyone comes to your assistance,if required. This time i even washed my van with the caravan wash station so she's gleaming from the start of the season even though i think i was wetter than the van ! The wardens are so friendly and always give you a wave or stop and have a chat such a nice site For dogs there are plenty of nature walks and a 5 minute walk to asda is a bonus if you walk 5 more minutes you will come to starbucks and they always welcome my 2 dogs in to the cafe For a more picturesque walk try walking into stockton town centre along the river and back there are plenty of coffee shops and markets are wednesday and saturday. Also on the doorstep is teeside retail park if you fancy a bit of shopping with a cinema Tees Barrage is a must and also they have a Beefeater pub which is just outside the entrance to the park, Thi is a site with everything you need and fabulous team of wardens to make your stay perfect i will be back very soon.

Enjoyed our stay

This is a lovely level site, all hard standing. The showers and toilets scrupulously clean. The disabled toilet/shower was the best I have ever used, floor not slippy, drainage in shower at perfect angle, plenty of grab rails and 2 seats. We stayed 4 nights at the end of February and we were really spoilt with the weather. To see people sunbathing and shirtless men wandering around was very bizarre. I believe the wardens are about to retire, and you could tell they were ready for it. The pitches are open with low level hedges. The site felt safe and relaxed. It is based on the River Tees Barrage which, to us, was fascinating. It is close to a large retail park, which we only used a supermarket. The only downside is the proximity of main roads and emergency services going past 24hrs, cannot be changed but got a bit noisy at times. Tv reception excellent, good WiFi signal too. Would visit again.

Great site

Very easy to get to, straight up the A19 for us. Staff very friendly and helpful. Everything very clean and tidy, and staff constantly on with something. Easy to get to the White Water park to either watch or take part, and a nice stroll or cycle down either side of the river. Beefeater Talpore pub/restaurant very handy and does good food. Overall, will definitely recommend.

Surprise!!

WOW! I used to be at college in Middlesbrough 50 years ago and wasn't sure what to expect following the demise of engineering in the area. I was truly surprised by the site, especially the proximity of the location to the Tees Barrage and the white water course. Happily ,we arrived on a Sunday when the water was flowing! During the week nothing happened which would have been a disappointment. The site was spacious and kept clean. However, the use of a leaf blower to remove small stones from the roadways was a real nuisance at mid-day. The noise pollution was unnecessary as I feel sure a brush would have been just as effective. It was only a few miles to the coast which, again, was a surprise with a brilliant, unspoiled beach. This is a site which we will use again to stay a few days or as a stop off on the way to higher up the north east coast or Scotland.

Very relaxed and enjoyable

Will return but avoid the town center, will use the site for stopover perhaps on route to Scotland or short trips, Nothing wrong with the site, next time will visit the coast .
